Pettifer off with a Reprimand.

Petts seems to have a nack for getting out of the way of being hit, Headland, who was it is Brissy ?

Go Petts! That tat has done wonders... anyone know what the tat is?

Headland will miss games against the Bulldogs and Geelong unless he fights a charge of attempting to strike Tiger Kayne Pettifer.

The third quarter incident was assessed as intentional conduct (3), high impact (3) and high contact (2), drawing the two-match penalty.

It's believed the Dockers are considering a challenge to the impact and contact categories, considering Headland didn't actually strike Pettifer.

Headland has a demerit points loading after being suspended for two matches in the last three years and 93.75 residual points from separate one-match bans for striking Tiger Wayne Campbell and rough conduct against Mark Coughlan in Round 19 last season.

Pettifer and Bulldog Brett Montgomery can escape with reprimands for striking Docker Steven Dodd and rough conduct against Hawk Peter Everitt, respectively.

And Carlton's Simon Wiggins can accept a reprimand for striking Port Adelaide's Michael Wilson.

Pettifer and Dodd were fined $900 for wrestling, along with Docker James Walker while a report against Saint Brendon Goddard was thrown out

Gee whats Headlands beef with the tige's.

I cannot wait until we meet those dogs again over here at the G!!!

And Pets gets a reprimand as well as a $900 fine for wrestling ::)

I actually thought Petts was a little lucky. At best it was a very clumsy attempt to spoil. Blokes have missed Grand Finals for similar.

*smile* Headland will get his suspension reduced. He missed. Mind you, it should have been a free kick and 50 metre penalty :'(

It makes me sick to hear the likes of Sheahan and Walls say "but he missed".

:rofl

so they won't mind at all if a sniper lines them up but the shot goes high?
The gunman shouldn't be prosecuted until he genuinely kills someone.

Good on you Mike and Rob :rotfl

I've been thinking about this (don't laugh :) ). With the umpiring being so "interesting" on the weekend there would be no way known that the AFL or Umpires could admit they got that one totally wrong. Even though only a point was conceded it was one of the factors that turned the momentum of the game. For them to come out and say Petts had no case to answer rather than giving him a reprimand would be tantamount to them admitting the "interesting" umpiring actually influenced the result of the match.

So does a reprimand go on his record and then count in that stupid points system the AFL now have? If it does then a think Petts has be dealt with very harshly. What are the AFL saying? "No you must not contest the ball". FFS!

"Pettifer has accepted a reprimand and 93.75 points towards his future record "

Well that's complete crap!

Headland is lucky Kane saw it coming and moved his head back a little so it didn't connect. The intent was certainly there, and it looked like he didn't miss by much. Headland had a closed fist too from what I recall.

Pett's was lucky it didn't connect.Would have knocked his nose cleen off!!

Just heard on 3AW news that Headland has been clear as there was not enough evidence to suggest that Headland tried to hit Pets in the head >:(

Will Pettifer's proven guilty but reprimanded incident on the weekend prevent him from winning the Brownlow this year... :hihi :hihi :hihi

No doubt about it...the incident should of been scrubbed.
Why do everyone keep letting these things happen? Cant they speak up? TW should say something, i know he may get fined a sum that we can hardly afford but it sure as hell would be worth it.

Very disappointing decison but no surprise because there is a loophole with how they review panel charged.

Headland was charged with attempting to strike but it was for a high hit and intentional but Fremantle argued that as it was attempting and no strike then it was not a high hit so the demerit points were taken off. Its a BS system where they rely on points and not video of the incident. I am not a fan of the Hawks captain but 4 weeks was a joke based on this stupid demerit points we have picked from another code of football. They should have used the precedent of Alastair Lynch who got 10 weeks for 10 attempting to strikes on Wakelin. Adrian Anderson has no idea it staggers me that there is no corapation between the umpires, match review panel , tribunal and the appeals board. Too many board making it inconsistent
