There seems to be some real support for Kayne Pettifer on this board at the moment.

I was giving him huge wraps last year, but has failed to impress since (even with limited game time).

I've all but given up on him - seems too slow, plays for frees too often and isn't as hard as he could be.

As Kayne's Pres I really hope he does become a good player. He does a few good things but other times he makes me want to tear out my hair. Have to agree with what Rosy has said numurous times he does need to go back to Coburg get a few games under his belt, play well and earn his spot in the team. But when he does do this Frawley has to give him a full game not just run him off the bench in 10 minute bursts. He has the talent, but at the moment lacks the mental toughness to play footy at AFL level. Maybe he will improve in this area but somehow I don't think it will happen. Hope it does and he proves me wrong.

Cut his head of he has showed nothing and do it mid season to make an example of him

I've seen alot of young players come through the ranks in the senior team in my time as a richmond fan. I can honestly say that Kane toad Pettifer is the worst youngster that I have ever seen in the senior side. People say that he has talent and will be a player. Let me just say this - the thing he is lacking is talent. He made his name in the under 18 comp only because he was more developed and stronger than most other kids. He has remained at that level because he has no talent. He goes near the ball and you just know he's not going to get the ball. His positioning is all wrong, he moves all wrong, he picks up the ball all wrong etc. - he just does not have it. Look at Newman - a Kid with talent - a kid who is poised, doesn't hurry, got beautiful skills, is composed, got clean hands, doesn't fumble etc. and you know he will be a player. You look at Pettifer and you know he is a complete dud who would struggle to get a game in the ametuers. You persist with a Newman. You count your losses with a Pettifer and try and find another Newman.

To me he looks like a scared little boy amongst men. Everytime I have seen a close up of him on the Box he looks like he is petrified of what is going on around him.

Even when he was shaping up to someone in the middle of the ground on Saturday didn't look to threatening.
