Really don't know why its taken so long to highlight his inefficiency in front of goal in the media etc. Its been a career long weakness in an otherwise awesome skill set. Been highlighting it for years.

Castagna 126.106 = 54.31%
Shaimond 96.87 = 52.46 %

Yeah he's a star Shai isn't he. Reckon he has another level to get to yet as well. Hopefully this September. Scary!!

But agree with his kicking, it's long been a flaw that for the most part we're going to have to live with.

His ball drop is just too high to eradicate a degree of miss kicks that will keep his conversion rate low.

Surely that's coachable though ? Its liveable when he's having a longer shot ie 45m+ because you need the longer arc/power in your technique for the further distance (especially a small guy), but there's zero need for it from 25m out.

I've seen plenty of guys solve for the high ball drop by just bending a bit more from the waist. Surely its coachable ?

He can kick them from a long way out, but, like a lot of players, changes the technique for closer shots. I reckon just kick through the ball from closer in, who cares if it ends up on level 3 as long as it goes through.

Yeah to an extent maybe Dudford, like you say especially for the closer shots. For the most part reckon we might have to live with it.

Still, he's not a bad package to have.

Yep you don't mess with a genius, even a flawed one, he will work it out himself.

Stats, schmats.
It doesn’t show the hundreds of shots on goal george has, that went left sideways, right sideways, backwards, upwards and just nowhere

Agreed, same routine for 15 out as for 50 out. Pick someone in the crowd 30 metres back and try to hit them. Shai tries to guide the ball through from short distances rather than kicking through.

Bolts typically has 2 shots a game from the 1st row of the top deck on his opposite foot (while a teammate is alone in the square) so it understandable that his goal kicking % is a bit *smile*, but he clearly misses too many easy ones too.
