After watching our uncompetitiveness in the ruck on friday and losing another big man(richo) i think it is time to adopt a new philosophy.

western philosophy says we must stand firm like the might oak tree against wind and adversity. in other words get a ruck man who can compete and beat his opponent.

eastern oriental philosophy says we should be like the willow tree. sway and move with the wind and adversity so that we dont break. in other words concede that we will lose the ruck contest and adopt a roving approach that allows for this. not much use having the rovers run to positions for a richmond ruck win when we invariably lose. have them run to positions for an opposition ruck win.

when we start winning the ruck contests again then we can go back to being oak trees. now is the time for being willow trees.

I think by playing Tuck in the ruck against the Crows, a bit of this philosophy has already been implemented.
