Just a lazy 12 changes. Would love to see the look on a few faces.

B Oaklie-Nicholls Rance* Casserly*
HB Tambling Gourdis* Connors
C White Deledio Collins*
HF Cotchin Riewoldt Edwards
F Putt* Hughes Moreton
R Cartledge Polo Foley
Res Meyer Pattison Raines Thursfield.

In Cartledge, Casserly,* Collins,* Connors, Edwards, Gourdis,* Meyer, Oaklie-Nicholls, Putt* Raines, Rance*& Thursfield.
Out Polak, Richardson, Simmonds, inj, Bowden, Brown, Johnson, Hyde, King, Mcmahon, Moore, Newman & Tuck.

what a silly post, u dont just throw a whole lot of young boys in the deep end at once and say swim, you bring them in gradually. U have to remember when you hav so many young plrs, u must still keep some senior players around to protect there young bodies and to teach them along the way.

Richo may nearly win the brownlow, moore had his best game for the club playin on fev, tuck was good again and does most of the strong bodied
work around the clearences mcmahon and bowden were reasonably solid so I dont think dropping eveyone after a 30 point defeat is the logical option.

For me, it's a no brainer. We now cannot make the finals (and really didn't deserve to anyway). So the objective should be to get as many games into the kids who have been impressing at Coburg as possible. Not gifting games because they are young - but giving a shot to players who can lay claim to being in the best more often than not at Coburg ones level. For mine, this means Casserly, Putt, Collard and Gourdis should not be considered.

The players to get a run imho are JON, Edwards, Collins, Connors and perhaps Cartledge too if elevated for Polak. It would be great if players like Rance, Coughlan and Meyer can get a look before the season is out too, but that may not be possible for different reasons. We certainly don't need to play them all at once but rotating them through would be worthwhile. The players who can make room from the weekend's side by joining that rotation are King, White, Polo, Tambling, Pattison and Hyde. I know many would include McMahon in this list however I disagree and don't think it will realistically happen. Even though I was certainly annoyed enough with his lack of accountability on Sat.

On the weekend we had 10 players 22yo and under compared to Carlton's 9. I'm not sure how many more youngsters you cam play in one team. Maybe one or two but not much more.
okay lets break that down a bit more. 8 players were 21 or 22 this yr. only cotchin 18 and riewoldt 20 in october were under 20. its not as if you are throwing babies in the deep end.i dont think theres a set number of kids you can play age wise. imo as far as age goes you canselect a team with just one experienced player on each line as long as theres some experience around the younger types. if a kid is a better option than a senior long term we should not hold himback based on age. anyway tens a god number but you could add 2 maybe 3 more without doing to much harm one thing for sure we would have a better side.
we are damned if we do or damned if we dont atm. its not players age that is the concern its the games played column. if you dont play the kids enough they dont get the experience because experience only comes from playing games.

i regularly pick a team from our list that has up to 13 22 or unders in it. i pick a 6 man interchange for match ups sake and yes to spread the experience around if need be.
age wise the team regularly includes moore 24, schulz 23, newman, 26 richo, 33, brown 30, simmo 30, tuck 27, foley 23, bowden 30, and polak 24.theres more than enough experience spread thru the team especially when you consider we have a fair few21 22 yolds spread thru the team as well. depending on type 22 is generally regarded as the age you become a senior.

I know its your opinion, but Polo (23 pos), White and King hardly deserve demotion. Putting JON in is astounding, he is useless at VFL let alone AFL.

Put this lot on the paddock and that 155 point flogging off the Cats would look like a close game.

Yep - just an opinion. But stats have a decreasing impact on impact on matches. And JON has been regularly named in Coburg's best - like it or not. I live in Darwin, and haven't seen a Coburg game, so I'm going purely on the results I read. Therefore, I understand that my opinion is only somewhat informed. Still - we all have opinions.

You can talk about playing the kids all you like - if you start dropping senior players just to give the kids a run, the line out the door will be a mile long. I think i am inferring that would be a bad thing.
I am all for playing the kids, but only at the expense of hopeless causes and medically challenged individuals, not guys who will be in our best 22 next year.

I respect that, dont get me wrong. I would prefer that we played the kids to see which ones need to be booted at seasons end. Polo kinda fits in that catergory, hasnt had much gametime this year and has just started to show something. Increasingly i am less and less impressed with King. For a bloke thats so quick he seems to be last to a contest too much. I thought his skills would improve but sadly they just arent.
