Play Tivva again Terry [Merged]

That's where I'll disagree. The #1 goal for an AFL Team is to win premierships, but it's certainly not the only thing that matters.

If you're after a team that will not care about players welfare and allow them to go off the rails completely just because they are producing premiership winning football, then why don't you take that final leap over the being a WCE fan. God knows you admire them enough and despite them being sh!t this year you still think they're a better club than ours.
boo hoo for you baloo. you go right ahead and disagree. may i suggest you dry the tears while your at it.

You better hope you're great at your job and will remain so until you decide to quit. It'd be a sh!t way for an employer to treat any employee. Karma has a funny way of catching up on people.

[/quote]if i was as poor at my job as *smile* i would have expected the chop yrs ago.

No tears here claw, actually quite happy with my club and how they dealt with this. Good to see there is a human side and that there is a Tiger family at the club, not just a bunch of accountants and hatchet men.

Tivva may not have been a great player, but he was one of ours. The club kept him on and when we finally decided we didn't need him in the seniors, he stepped down and still put in 100% playing with our kids. If that's not commitment worthy of recognition, then you really need to go and support a company.

What's really hurting you though claw ? Is it that one of your favourite whipping boys is leaving and deep down you're going to miss him immensely ?

Anyway, I stand by my suggestion. It's more than apparent watching you froth at the mouth over the last few years that you really wish you supported WCE. You think their crap doesn't stink yet the RFC gilt edged future is tarnished. Why don't you take that final leap mate ? You might actually finally find out what it's like to smile at a football match.

he was a dud hes been a dud for 10yrs i see no reason to acknowledge abject mediocrity.good riddance i say and all the best with your life outside footy.
Sounds like you're rather bitter and twisted over failing to achieve mediocrity in life claw. At least Tivver can claim to have achieved mediocrity at the elite level. As Micky Malthouse once quoted. Better to reach for the stars and fail than to achieve mediocrity. Nearly 200 AFL games after coming off the rookie would be a fair reach in anyones language but yours.
Just for the record Claw, Tiv's far from my favourite player but I'm at least capable of acknowledging that he's given the game his best efforts.

I've finally worked out why Tivva is getting a game this week .....

Royce Hart played 187 games and you can't have Tivva finishing on the same tally, so they have grouped him with Hughie James.

Hopefully, Tivva can also win a B&F in a premiership side like these 2 guys (but at Coburg).

Thanks for the memories. Nice of him to kick a couple of long points and put a few passes at forwards feet just so we didn't have to dig to deep to remember.

Isn't it ironic that Tivva's three shots at goal yesterday were a perfect mirror on his career?

His first shot was a beautiful-looking left-foot kick on the run that missed to the left, his second was another beautiful-looking left-foot kick, this time from a set shot, that missed to the right and his third was a beautiful-looking left-foot kick from well outside 50 that never looked like missing. As always, his right foot was there to stop him falling over.

Just like his career. Pretty to watch but not quite good enough.

Funny you mention his left.
Because he actually kicked about a 25 metre pinpoint pass on his right yesterday.
Beleive it or Not !!

Actually, I saw that and chuckled.

I've never minded Tivva. He has always tried hard and gave it a good shot over many seasons. Like a lot of his Richmond contemporaries, the lack of overall team success made his weaknesses stand out more than was probably warranted. He needed a greater number of quality players around him.

Chuckled ?
I saw it at the ground and thought i was seeing things, then proceeded to rub my eyes.
When i got home that was the first thing i forwarded to.
I swear i think i just sat there for 5 minutes in bewildered amazement. :o :o :o :o :o

Fair enough, chuckled is not quite the right word.

I saw him run on to the right and expected the characteristic "change of direction to find his left again but run straight into a waiting tackler." When it didn't come I waited for the characteristic "miss the target 10m away by 20m."

When he coolly slotted it between the defenders to the advantage side of his man who didn't break stride and marked safely.......

Lets just remember him for that kick.

Well he kicked the goal he deserved.

If he plays on which he might, the team thats picking him up will know he gets run down too easily, he hasnt got a strong core but he can come in handy if you need a player to hit up targets inside 50

Didn't play a bad game the old Tiv. Sort of happy he got a game in the end. Imagine having the Adelaide game remembered as your last game.
