We have tall forwards - Check!
We lack disposal skills - Check!

GAME PLAN A
Kick long and deep into forward line, contest ferociously and goals will come.
By contesting ferociously on our forward line the ball won't be rebounded easily to expose our lack of speed and skills.
Our ability to keep the ball on our forward line is crucial.

GAME PLAN B
Once our team actually applies scoreboard pressure then we may consider a modified game plan of working the ball around the ground using medium length kicks and not short ones that will damage us if they miss the mark.

You know I think they are actually told to stick to Game Plan A, but as soon as something goes wrong they panic and fall back into old habits, it's another reason why the team needs an injection of younger players, they haven't been taught those bad habits and most of them are not yet scared of failing, nor do they so easily accept defeat. Plus if these kids go through some bad experiences together they'll bond closer and work harder to make sure that it doesn't continue to happen. Their enthusiasm may even rejuvenate some of their older, jaded teammates.

What was with playing 99 5 of the game chip passing close to the boundary side all night. >:(

Spewing, I sat on the opposite wing and saw no play close up.

Got to get it out of the centre first - before you can kick it long - our mid-field got trounced last night - hence when the ball did come into our forward line it dribbled in.

Your plan A is OK if you are winning or even breaking even in the centre.

For my two bobs worth - I think we need to concentrate on the simple issues

Be first to the ball
Kick it or handball it to a teammate in a better position
Concentrate on low level bullet passes instead of the whimpy Sydney Harbour Bridge 20 metre floating passes
Run Run and then run again
Tackle tackle and then tackle again
Shephard shephard and then shephard again
Support support and then support again.

The unfortunate thing too is that the Tigers are on the Friday Night Stage again next week and I have not seen them play a decent game on a Friday night for over 4 years. I hate being pessimistic - life is too short to be filled with drama, doom and gloom. But hey as a Tiger Supporter ya think I'd get use to it!

The problem with game plan A is that it continues to make the forward line Richo-centric. He expects it to be kicked to him so he can take a speccy, there are no crumbers within cooee if he drops it (which can be most of the time if he and the team are having a stinker), the ball is turned over and voila! a fast team like the Doggies have it back up in their attacking zone in no time which then catches our defense out 'cause they're not organised, not manning up and running around like headless chickens.

There were games last year we played reasonably close to your Plan A because Browny was running through, there was a reasonable number of Tiges in the forward zone and Richo was prepared to pass the ball off, but I noted the lack of crumbers last year and it was glaringly obvious again on Friday night (along with a litany of other problems). The Doggies play a style of football that doesn't suit the current Tiger line up (and I refer to the senior players here). I dont think they pooed themselves as much as they didnt think they could win it before they even stepped onto the ground. A number of people have noted how flat they were in their warm up. Speaks volumes I reckon about what they think they are capable of.

The bottom line is we need to STRICTLY follow a game plan, for without following one we are like a ship without a rudder.

i remember Wayne Campbell talking about RIch v Geelong games once. He said there used to be a plan A for Ablett but after 5 minutes that was gone and the players had no idea what to do as there was no plan B or C.....looked like that was sorta the case on friday night.
