Player Mentors?

Do player mentors/ex players change every year. Or does a player stay with the same mentor.

I have seen on here the list, if someone with computer smarts could find it it would be good to see again.

The reason for this question is,

We have now got Polak, who is known for issues in the past.

Who should we get as his mentor in 2007- or for good. 

Do mentors even work and if so would this help him stay in line.

Interested on peoples thoughts.

I think the player mentor thing is good PR but not sure how legitimate it is? That said, I think Francis Bourke would be the best man for the job. Ride Polak intio believing he should be up with the other 3 of his year.

Its a funny thing but the mentors all have one thing in common, they were all sacked or retired.
