There are a number of players on the list who could be considered important players come season '08 or could be delisted by then. Who are they? What could happen in '07
These are just some thoughts, I'd like to see what others think.
Travis Casserly - Good sized midfielder, probably a bit off selection yet. Unless he shows a lot of promise at Coburg next year or can get a few games under his belt he may be struggling to be here still in '08.
Prediction - Will be given '08 to prove himself if he can perform
Ray Hall - Unless there are a few injuries Rayzor may struggle to get a game behind Gaspar, Thursfield, Polak, Bowden's etc.
Prediction - Unless he improves heavily it will be Rayzors last season in '07
Chris Hyde - This may surprise some but given the amount of talent knocking on the door Hydey may be one who will have to make way for youngsters next year.
Prediction - Will play 10+ senior games next year and will remain on the list.
Brent Hartigan - Has a lot of competition being the type of player he is. Believe he is worth a backline/midfield rotation position. Needs a lot of things to go his way to have a good go.
Prediction - Will get around 15 games coming off the bench could be offered for trade bait at the end of '08 if he can't get a good crack at it.
Danny Meyer - I think Wallace will get him every opportunity to prove his worth. I think he will be given a midfield/forward rotation role and will impress.
Prediction - Will prove why he was taken so early in the draft and will be kept for at least another 2 years.
Kelvin Moore - Too far back to be given an opportunity.
Prediction - May get a couple of games but will get delisted.
Luke Mcguane - Really struggled when given an opportunity this year, has a lot of competition from similiar type players. Needs a few things to go his way to get an opportunity.
Prediction - Will be delisted if doesn't impress.
Daniel Jackson - Will get a chance to prove he's worth a position.
Prediction - A tough one, i think he's at least worth a position on the bench but really needs to improve his decision making on the ground to be given a shot. Could go either way.
Graham Polak - Will be used in both forward/back line and will occasionly pinch hit in the ruck.
Prediction - I think he will prove to be a valuable acquisition, he is still very young and for a key position player has some improvement to come IMO.
Jay Schulz - Really needs to prove he's better than Hughes, Riewoldt, Jackson etc. Has been given ample opportunity for little return.
Prediction - Will show steady improvement and will be a recquired player. Could be traded otherwise.
Richard Tambling - Has bulked up a bit more and will be a lot more confident now as a result.
Prediction - Will have a good year and prove why he was sucha high draft choice.
