Players due for a stint at Coburg???

Quite a few players getting a free ride....

Is hard to drop all of them, but I think the following players should either play at Coburg or be given a warning that if they don't improve thats where they will be:

Chris Hyde - Obviously has to go

Jordan McMahon- Not dropped yet, but needs to be warned that if he doesn't put his head over the ball...bye bye

Matthew White - Has had a good year, but may need a week or two back at Coburg to get a few touches.

Richard Tambling - Head over ball, ummmm.... could even try and get the ball....... maybe even some gut running instead of the useless jogging around the ground.... Coburg is calling!

Shane Tuck - Not as dangerous as he used to be, and his opponents seem to get plenty of it too.... Shape up or ship out!

Troy Simmonds - Believe he is injured, but will need to show improvement after the break

I don't understand what has happened to that defensive pressure that we showed from rnd 4 to rnd 9, it seems to be a distant memory.....we are starting to look ordinary and playing for ourselves instead of each other once more.....

Is there light at the end of the tunnel?

Hyde - same file as Pettfier and Tivendale - never to wear the RFC jumper ever again. Even if we have multiple injuries, I'd rather play a man short than see any of these three again.
Pattison - useless. Disaster to think that we wasted one of the Ottens picks on him. As said before - did Miller actually see him play (particularly mark and kick) before draft day?
Tambling - insipid. I've been a defender of him until now, but no longer. He's got 8 games left to show something, otherwise it's trade time - what a massive disappointment.
Riewoldt - slow, doesn't show enough - great attitude from all reports but time to show something on the field.
King - needs to stop being Mr tough guy and start beating an opponent and winning/using the footy.
Johnson - just retire. Too slow and past it. The Crows flags were 10+ years ago. Don't get me started on his lack of leadership qualities. For those doubting Polo, he showed 10 times as much as Johnson today.

I'd keep going with White, he's not great, but at least he takes the game on with some dash - we should reward that.

A few I can't agree with, White has been one of the few players who doesn't stop running all day to provide options. Isn't afraid to take a hit, dafe in my book.
Tuck, you can send him to Coburg.... but you do need to replace him. There is absolutely no one there ready to go who can do the bullocking work in the guts. He is as safe as houses. Even with a fit Cogs, he'll still be safe.
Simmonds....read above. Who, Graham= raw, Putt= rawer. Cartledge bit too unco for AFL in my eyes. Patto is already in & would be on notice if we had any replacements. If Simmo is injured he wouldn't be having a stint at Coburg, it would be on the sidelines.
You're right with the others though.

White stays.
Riewoldt stays.
Hyde out forever - hopefully
Pattison - long long stint at Coburg. Useless. Polak as backup ruck and Schulz in to cover Polak.
Tambling - stint at Coburg well overdue.
King came back a game too early perhaps.

Out - Hyde, Tambling, Pattison
In - Connors, Collins, Schulz.

Hyde and Tambling.

Agree (or play Bling off half-back as the loose man if Wallace really wants to play him)

Totally agree.
At least White runs, provides and option....and when he doesn't have the ball, he chases.
Some more of the senior players could follow his example, if you ask me.

And here lies the problem.
We have players who know they are safe and couldn't give a fat rat's clacker.
And the coach is to blame because I'd rather drop them anyway and play some kids who might show some bloody enthusiasm and heart.....yeah, we might get beat by 100 points (so did the Hawks when they played a bunch of kids too and where are they now....?)

Watching Tuck play the style of game he does, I think he does have a go & puts in. Not arguing the point of if he is good enough, he is a solid AFL player - no star, no dud either. Simmonds on the other hand, does have his moments where he appears a tad lethargic in his attempts, but he doesn't get much of a chop out either, because we have no one else.
You're right, the coach is to blame, for simply not having a balanced list. We could go down the Hawks path as you suggest, but once again you need to have players you feel can develop into players better than what you currently have in the positions they are replacing. Is Collins going to be a 'grunt' midfielder or an outsider, is Connors better off as I've suggested previously being sent to a fitness camp for a month(s) rather than regular training & Coburg. We all know he can play, but games go for 120 mins not 20 mins.
With Wallace fighting for survival these kids won't be replacing Tuck & Simmonds.
Hawks had Lewis in the guts as a kid, but he had a mature body. Carlton played Murphy, but he is a level above the guys we have waiting in the wings. I want kids in the team, don't get me wrong, but the positions they will be getting won't be Tuck & Simmonds'. They have plenty of other spots available if the coaching staff are serious.

This thread isn't quite right. Like last year we are beginning to see a pattern of players who we would like to drop for someone better - but the real issue is who at Coburg deserves a run in the ones?

Hmmmmmm

Wallace, Bowden, McMahon, Hyde, Tuck, Patto

Wallace needs to find some form....his form over the past 4 years has been very ordinary to say the least. He needs to learn how to win some games and how to get the ball out of the middle

Simmonds??? Are you serious, so we drop the best ruckman in the club by the length of the Flemington straight to promote who? Cartledge...Putt...Pattison...Graeme? you have got to be kidding me, have a good think about where we were last year without Simmonds. That comment is almost laughable.
He is the only AFL standard ruckman in the club...end of story!
