Players expect Terry to be at Tigerland next season

I think it was Newmo who was asked if the players expect Terry to be there next season and he answered "We do."  Not sure of his exact words following that but along the lines of they can't think of things like that, but to me the confirmation is thinking about it as much as a claim that they don't expect him to be there.  They shouldn't even comment publicly about it.  They know Terry's contract is ending and it isn't their position to speculate either way.

The Press conference was an attempt to "Defer" the decision to end Wallace's tenure at the Tigers.

The topic at the meeting this morning was about the "Gameplan" which the players are not happy with and have stated as much to Wallace and the board.

The Players finally have rejected Wallace's insane gameplan and it is pleasing to see that they have shown some leadership (maybe Ben said something) finally, finally the players have the nous and the nuts to stand up to Wallace and his cronies.

Same page?

Some of those players need to be in the same unemployment queue in 2010.

Don't think he quite was heading in that direction with his comments.

I'm probably wrong, but I thought the question was the "end of the season".

It was the "end of the season and next year"

Of course the players want him to stay.

You dont have to things like tackle or gut bust at training or in games.

Yeah, that's what i read Rosy...bizarre comment really when one considers the current state of play. Only makes Newmo look silly (I know he's not as a general rule - but in this case :P )

Must agree, this statement was truly the one that had me laughing and crying at the same time.

Have to say, Newman has been made to look very average this year, very average indeed.

As for Craig Cameron, well, he always looks average. :P

He was asked a question, which if he didn't answer would have looked as if he knew something about Terry's future which up until this point the club has said will be reviewed mid season.
If he answered no, that would have been the most ridiculous answer ever from the captain when trying to present himself as being the spokesmen for the players as having an united front.
His answer at this point in time was the only answer available to him. He couldn't say anything else without looking a fool.
So I disagree that he shouldn't have commented.

I don't agree DS. It would have been more appropriate to say something along the lines of it not being anything to do with the players, or it's not something they've given thought to, than to say yeah they believe Terry will be there next year.
