Back in the day there were heaps of blokes running around in the VFL/AFL who I didnt know. Mostly they played for teams like Fitzroy and South and the Doggies who didn't feature much on the Winners and WOS.

These days the comp is stretched a bit more and i'd be buggered if i could name more than half of the Freo boys, for example.

But there's a whole lot of other players who have racked up heaps of games at their clubs who I fail to recognise straightaway.

so in honor of Ben Dixon who played a heap of games but i never worked him out, i name a few more anonymous players:

Lenny hayes, James McDonald, All the Boltons, the Middle Cloke, Welsh at the Bombers, Braun/Brown whoever at WC. Fishers at Carlton and Saints. Sewell and Young and Osbourne at the Hawks. Half of Brissy, about six swannies, some crows and a lot of Port.

Who else?

I know what you mean. I remember when I was 18-23 (now 35) and I pretty much could have named any player on any side. I watched as much footy as I could back then. I still try to, but I am lucky if I see two games a weekend, and sometimes that includes the Tigers game. I think I really lost it when I went overseas for four years (remained a member ;)) and have not been able to get it back. It's took me ages to get to know all the boys in Y&B, and I still get it wrong sometimes.

Anyway, to add to that list... Mitch Hahn, Jarrad McVeigh, Nathan Bock, James Kelly (just some of the many)

McVeigh is a good one and Macphee.

Cogs a little bit back in the early days.

The other nathan browns, simon godfrey.

i know the dogs have a few good ones but i must say i dont know what these players do or lookilike on the field

harbrow, wiliams, etc

NO such luck, I am footbaling tragic.

Me and my mates are happy to debate such topics as;

"What footballer looks like he should live in Ramasy St?"
Answer : Jimmy Bartel or Natahan Van Berlo

"What fotballer looks like he watches Goodfellas once a week?"
Answer: Paul Chapman.

"What player would most likely be a mid level standover man in the Carlton Crew wearing tracksuits and bad haircuts?"

Answer: Nathan Caroll

Harbrow is not that good (yet?) and young Tom was an early draft pick from Qld. He missed his entire first season with a leg injury I think. Doggies knew his early progress would be slow. He is a powerful young athlete who could be anything.

I've got to say that when you play the Dreamteam competitions, your knowledge of other teams' players improves markedly.

Scooper - like the cryptic (or not so) "What footballer" questions!!!!

Lenny hayes, James McDonald, Craig Bolton are superstars, Leigh Fisher(st.kilda) would be a great asset to replace mcguane or moore. Sewell at the Hawks won their B&F and is a super midfielder. Half of Brissy - only one player who cant kick thats merrett, about six swannies, some crows and a lot of Port, couldnt name a player at ne of these clubs best 22 who wouldnt at least play some sought of role in our side.

i definitly think u should pay more attention to other players and clubs to give yourself a better perspective of where we r at.
