Playing for the coach

"Playing for the coach" doesn't happen any more, does it? The coach is a paid employee, the players are paid employees. For me there's a line between the time football went fully professional, and what came before. In many respects, professionalism has adversely impacted the game (IMO).

Our team spirit occasionally comes to the fore, but doesn't seem to be evident consistently as it is with successful clubs.
I think you are wrong the players have to like the coach.
I feel the blues love there coach and are playing for him.

to the person who made the comment that we just cant beat the top sides..i am sure...positive in fact,..that we beat hawthorn right neat the end of the year last year??? please correct me if i am wrong....

ahh.....imagine this place if we had won last night..

damn fickle bunch. what other people say is so right and it embarresses me....that tiger supporters turn on their team in the blink of an eye....

give it a break...one game in and you have all written them off...bloody hell.

Hirdy just said that players play for the coach.
Any money our players don't.

hmmm....I just wonder how much the introduction of Cousins has upset the balance of the side. Not just in the midfield, but to what extent has he disturbed the relationships Wallace had built up with the other players. We know Cousins is not a team player. He's a loner and he needs hard bodies and hard heads around him, something that Richmond was and is ill equipped to supply.

They'll be flogged by the Cats and the Dogs in succession, but I for one will be watching to see whether things function better without Cousins.

I think Cuz is the least of our woes. Lack of skills and passion have been our hallmark for a while now.

Was shot down when i said this after round one, but it's good to see everyone backing me up now. :hihi :hihi

Not at all mate, a lot of us agreed and in the possibility of a coach in the last year of his contract loseing the players over the though first three games of the season was discussed in the preseason as well.

What has happen in the last three weeks has not been a disappointment, but sadly not huge surprise.

I remember in mid 07 being told privately by a prominent pre 'brightsider' that they think Wallace should go.
