I know that the guard will chnage with the tigers in the next year or so. We all know that Gas , Kellaway and some others will not be there. That will leave huge holes especially in the backline as we found out against the Swans.
I for one , when i heard the outs before the game, and when i got the paper and saw that Richo had pulled up sore and Plough would wait until the morning to see if he would play i was expecting a loss , but not to the magnitude that we suffered.
I read the paper this morning and Joel was quoted as being dissapointed in his own game and that of the players.
When i saw Mcguane the first gamer playing on O'laughlin i thought back to when Will debuted and i said i doubt that we would be so lucky this time around. Well i was right but the kid tried, i know he caught under a few times but i saw some things i liked and he could be a player to persist with, whether for the year or next when Will returns too. I am not going to bag the kid.
We played many kids with under 20 with under 20 games experience.
Mcguane
Raines
Polo
Foley
Hughes
Tambling
JON
Lids only one experience
Hyde
Harts
Jackson
Tuck
Shulz and Will (injured)
So you can see from the above names that we were going to be up against it with the Swans.
Who did we really beat?
The way we had played against the Blues and the Dons, the standard wasnt up to it but because both those teams were terribel as well and couldnt deliver a knock out punch. Yes you can only beat the team you play on the park.
I am in no illusion the task that faces Wallace and co is going to be a huge one.
I am prepared to weather the storm and see the kids blossom , to gain that vital experience to be AFL footballers. On one /two games we cannot make a judgement call on whether the players will be up to standard and be able to help the club rise up the ladder.
The club is faced with a difficult task make no mistake about it. They have made a statement i think with Gas but i am sure Plough will rush him back in this week. I also feel we as supporters are screaming to play some kids so we get to see them and enjoy some excitement by watching the kids come through. But i am sure as much as he wants to show these kids to us supporters we have to be realistic and understand he is caught in a catch 22.
To keep playing the kids as much as he stated this huge loss will not affect them , will it.?
Does he keep at it or rush in the experienced players back against the Crows?
Are we as supporters prepared to enjure this pain?
For how long will we accept these thrashings ?
We suffered one with an experienced outfit against the Dogs and suffered the same result with a inexperienced side.
I would like to know what we all think?
Thanks
