Fair comment. I have to agree. Tivendales a dud just like McMahon is.

McMahon has been a very disappointing first round draft pick for the bulldogs.

Agree with this logic Momentai. I too expect to see a small drift to the Tigers of former Bulldogs.
 
Can McMahon kick with more than 1 foot?

I agree with the "top up" players remark, but I'll ask this question:

What if the player we are "topping" up on is younger than the player we trade away?

I'd have thought topping up was more like us taking Hudson thinking thats all we need to win a grand final, rather than taking a young guy that we're trying to fill a role while we mold our list and grow.

We are a long way from the comfort of looking for a 'top up' player.What Beck was on when he gave up a 3rd rd pick for Hudson after Hudson was told he was no longer needed by the Dogs,I'll never know.

As I see it using an early preseason draft pick to get a player from another club is just a strategy.If we wanted to trade for either Mc Mahon or Power the Dogs wd seek a first rd draft or an early second round.No thanks but offer them more money than the dogs are willing to,and there is some chance we could get them for our preseason draft pick.There is already a talking up of the possibility that the Cats, Power and Eagles may not be able to keep Bartel,(who like a no of his young mates must be quietly pissed with the amount of the TPP going to Otto),Salopek and McConnell.

Players like this may seek deals with Melb based clubs to come home via the pre season draft and in this way a Power or McMahon could fall to us.
