Port Ruck domination

And several over zealous supporters.

Never blame supporters for their irrational enthusiasm, that and stubborn loyalty is the only thing that keeps us buying memberships.

Match committees on the other hand should know better...

Brogan & Lade are both 30+ players.
Lade has played 220 games, Brogan over 120.
Lade has been playing since 1997, Brogan since 2001.
Finals have come to them in 2002, 2003, 2004 (Premiers), 2005 & 2007.

I'm all for us finding a junior ruck combination that we can develop.
We should do so as soon as these younger boys bodies & minds are ready.
But when we do so, I hope supporters don't 'trash can' these boys too early.
They will be an imperative for Tiger success.
They will take time.

So what was Simmo's excuse.

On the face of it, focusingon hitouts, Brogan and Lade clearly beat the Tigers ruck. However they were completely ineffectual around the ground. 12 posssessions between them and 1 mark. Graham and Simmonds weren't much better with 14 possessions and 5 marks. Personally considering who they were rucking against I really wasn't that impressed with Brogan and Lade.

Vickery was a relatively high draft pick, so the raps on him must be pretty good...what are his chances of playing next year and has he shown anything yet at Coburg to suggest he is going to be a standout?

Not all big blokes take years to acclimatise.....eg., Kruezer ...or do we assume he's in another league?

Several reasons. For one, he isn't ready it takes a long time to develop guys his size. For another he is a rookie and can't play seniors.

He has been getting in the bests at reserves level, should be playing at coburg instead of no hopers like Schulz

In another league 67.

He's a No 1 pick that is out of the box.

Vickery has done all that should have been expected of him.

Simmo had a stand out season in 2008. He was fit and was rewarded for extra effort.
I don't think that is the case this year. Could be fitness, could be general decline.
Whether that changes, I don't know.

Actually, Lade & Brogan, both, haven't done as well in 2009 as they did in 2008, though Port is doing better.
They just had a day out against our rucks; a down Simmonds and a learning Graham.
So, outside of last weekend, Lade & Brogan are in a decline too.
