, but the real problem lies with our senior players.

I doubt anyone would deny that geoffry considering how often Terry has told us himself....but not one of them has beeen traded despite Terry ruling over 4 draft periods now. More concerningly to me despite his obvious issues with them Terry has never once dropped one of them and made them go back and earn their spot. To me Coburg should be a coaching tool and if players don't put in they should be made to perform at a lesser level rather than just go through the motions every week.

A case in point with Terry in regard to his senior players is Nathan Brown. Terry told us that Nathan was really struggling with his injury yet he obviously thought Coburg was beneath him. He had some very ordinary performances when he was struggling with his injury before he finally had to take time off. That's not fair on Nathan, the team or the supporters who faithfully follow the team.

Danny Frawley was the same...our senior players let us down we don't have the cattle etc. Nothing much has changed really. As Remote says, the buck stops at the top. If our coaches don't address the problem they need to accept the responsibility rather than complain about it.

Agree Missing. I can't in my wildest dreams see that happening. Do you understand any of the points people are making though or do you think Terry has everything under control for a period of sustained success?

I think it's way too early for this poll 3 games into the season but if we have a season like last year I'd expect the board to be having a very in depth discussion about the direction the club needs to take.

Agree. And that's the most frustrating thing about it. Having put up with 5 years of incompentancy from Frawley, we are seeing EXACTLY the same thing from Terry. The same in terms of playing style, skill errors, empty threats about dropping senior players, and lack of development of our kids.

In effect we've had 10 years of Terry Frawley.

Sacking the coach in our centenary year.

Yeah, I can see that happening.

Another wooden spoon in our Centenary year is also a real possibility. With Wallace and Miller in charge of another drafting disaster.

Let Terry finish his contract and than when we have 2 years worth of priority picks get a new coach and development group in to get these kids up to speed.

And this is a real possibility, considering we have had a full squad in the opening rounds. Wait untill the injuries begin, it'll get worse.

Don't write off Melbourne just yet, they are a much classier team than us. They just need to settle in with the new game style.

Absolutely spot on Rosy!!! The points you raised above are the exact reasons we have struggled for the last 10 years!!!

My order of preference in regards to coaches would be

1. Buckley - As much as i despised this bloke, he has football knowledge and smarts beyond many. Have not heard one thing come out of his mouth in regards to football tactics or matchups etc that hasn't made total sense. Also has the mentality of having to win no matter what!! Unfortunately doubt he would even consider coaching us.

2. Hardwick - Loved his response to Essendon when asked about indigenous players. Said every player is treated equally, no matter who they are!!! Exactly what the RFC needs.

3. Mckenna - Young, good apprenticeship under Malthouse, and has some toughness about him.

A proven AFL Premiership winning coach who has taken kids to the top of the ladder - Sheedy is too old so that leaves Pagan - and I bet we would get a good deal for a 3 year contract because he wants to coach again - that would see us become a tough hard finals team again.......
why is sheeds to old.
knights is reaping what sheedy sowed.

Interesting thing about the poll is while at the moment Wallace is the most popular option, more than 75% of people chose an option other than Wallace.

Personally I wouldn't touch anyone who hasn't done his time as an assistant coach, I don't care how good they were as players. And I also would not go for the current re-tread coaches.

Footy has moved on, the coaching elite now is made up of people who played in the 90's (Malthouse is a freak and a exception)

Guy McKenna would be excellent ;) Tough, no *smile*, has had success, has done good things with the pies.

Although maybe a Sheedy final dig would be too cheezy

John Longmire would be a good acquisition

Bryan Royal already knows the playing group but from reports he has failed miserably in his interviews from what I've herd

For what it is worth boys and girls.

Personally, I would not mind seeing Michael Voss as our new coach, whenever that may be. Why, you may ask??

He is young, enthusiastic, and more importantly comes from a winning premiership environment. He has captained a winning team with great work ethic. Has to have learned an tremendous lot from a great coach in Matthews. OK, so he no coaching experience, but surely the above attributes more than make up for that. The players would have to respect his credentials that's for sure.

It appears the AFL are looking for him to coach the new Gold Coast team, so if we wanted him, we would have to move quickly.

There is one thing for sure. Our present coach seems to have little or no game plan. He blames the handball fiasco in the Sun today, on the players. I would have thought he was the one responsible for their actions!! All the members around me were shouting "kick the bloody ball." The two ladies behind us were so mad they left during the 2nd. quarter, saying how frustrated they were with the players and their stupid handball.

How much longer must we put up with players not understanding how the game should be played. Commentators on 3AW were saying we were trying to play a Geelong type of football, but without the skills to do it. They then graded our players into A B and C classes. Richo and Browny were the only two A class players, and small number of B, including Foley, which was a bit rich, as he should be classed as A surely, the the rest as C grade. That's how we are perceived by commentators who have played the game.

I wonder if the players have respect for him any more???

These are my thoughts for what they are worth. The RFC of course, don't take any notice of comments by members, so what the hell!!!

u know who would be hilarious as coach, Richmonds favourite daughter, wayne campbell
lets face it our club has been a joke 4 25 years 7 it wont get better until we get rid of whoever is sabotaging the club from the inside.

We need Sheedy in some kind of a role, he has been the best recruiter of the past 25 years and I don't see why his talents would have diminished in the space of 12 months. If not as coach then he can claim Greg Miller's soon to be vacant job. Otherwise I think McKenna and Buckley would be great choices. Terry Wallace must go.

Have these guys even been to the footy in the last three years? Have they noticed that Browny opponent's regularly now how to be hospitalised after games with acute cases of leather posing?

We need Sheedy. He'd bring a winning culture back to a club that doesn't remember what finals is like.

I'm certain that he'd also bring out the best in players like Tambling and JON.

Whilst I am not a big Tezza fan, I must say that I am even less of a fan of his Assistant Coaches.

Could someone please tell me how this rabble were chosen to join the RFC... did Tezza pick them?
