Hope someone can clear this up. But wasn't their a clause on Wallace's 5th year? If his performance wasn't up to scratch he could dump him without paying it out. Similar to the one that Spud was on.

You would like to think so but would not be confident. Who was CEO when Plough was appointed or was it Interim and something CC looked after? Surely there would be an out-clause in the last two years if certain KPI's were not met.

I posted this on another thread but makes more sense here...

If I were Gary March I'd do this...

Sound out Sheeds about whether he'd take the head of footy dept role and whether he could get Hardwicke to take on the job.

Work out whatever excuse to give Miller his marching orders ASAP and immediately appoint Sheeds into the HoF role.

Tell Wallace that he now reports into Sheedy and that Tuesdays with with Terry is now going to be hosted by the HoF (this should be enough to get him to quit).

If Wallace doesn't leave, set clear targets to be acheived by the end of round 12, if not ... c ya!

If he does leave bring in Hardwick immediately for contract until end of 2009 - Sheeds will be able to cover for him if it looks like he's not going to make it.

If he doesn't leave, wait until Round 12 and either appt Hardwick until end of 2009, or

When Hardwick comes in, change the reporting line back! (that'll *smile* terry off no end!)

Second option for an untried coach - any senior assistant under clarkson or the angry man at Geelong. These coaches have built a strong list from nothing and have made the hard calls so you'd hope their assistants have had their eyes and ears open and learnt.

No more untried coaches. We've had Frawley, Geischen, Bartlett. Our odds aren't too great. If we can't find a 'younger' proven coach then get Sheedy.

One person that I can't see mentioned (not saying get rid of Plough yet) is Alan Richardson.

Would be good to have at the club though dont think we can match his salry from Collingwood.
Has a good record of developing young players at Bulldogs and Collingwood getting them ready quicker for senior football. Also has good record at East Burowod, Coburg/Richmond.

No doubt the Pies develop their kids alot quicker than us.Brian Royal is likely to get the boot regardless at seasons end so Alan Richardson might be a good choice.
