PP Gone, Low pick going - time to trade our big guns

Ok i know this will call some outrage but now is the time we should offer what valuable currency we have and trade for picks only.
I propose we trade the following:

1. Richo - yes he is the heart and sole but give him a chance at a flag with a side that is close, maybe the dogs or pies would offer us something in picks
2. Brown - can we get a second rounder for him offer him up for anything
3. Bowden would anyone offer us anything for him

Cousins i would keep, he is giving our kids more than we realise

Richo is the one, he is too good not to play yest we are developing our kids without him, he is still a valuable commodity at his age (maybe) so lets see what we can get. let him go for 1 or 2 years and bring him back to the club after he retires.
Do you really think the big fella would want to be a part of premiership at another club?

I understand where you are coming from with wanting to gain a pick or 2 at the draft table
but what kind of message is that sending to the youngsters at the club by trading the blokes who
have bled for the yellow & black week after week ,year after year.

On Joel, love him or hate him he deserves to be a 1 club player, should he choose to play else where then good luck to him.

Robbo mentioned something today on his blog about Raines will ask to be traded.

Would be very happy with a third round pick.

Dont be afraid to use that word CC my dear man. ;)

It is so apt and accurate when describing so many individuals and aspects of the RFC.

PS ....... no D word in this one

this would be an appalling move, what kind of message would that send to the youngsters...once you're thirtysomeing, tata...a club needs to be able to embrace thiose greats that have served the club so well not give the tiawana at first opportunity :o

Happy with some of the info in the report from CC in this months Fighting Tiger.
Specifically:

  • It's likely that we'll have more than the usual number of picks in the National Draft.
  • Priority will be a power forward and would like to snare another A-grade midfielder (can never have enough A-grade midfielders)

  • We now have three full-time recruiters (didn’t have one full time in 2005)

None of these guys have any currency, the possible exception being Richo to a club who needs a big marking forward. But he will not play for another club, and I would be horrified if he did.

IMO, Bowden has more currency than Brown.

The only thin we'd get for Browny is sympathy.
