PRE Back to normal!!!!!!!!

I don't know how anyone can get so fired up over a glorified practice game. I thought we'd go all out to win considering our disgrace last year but we had new players, players missing, players out of position etc.

I'd understand the fury if last night's game was Rd 1, there can be no excuses in the real thing, but much as I'd loved us to have played a whole lot better I can't too get emotional just yet.

Having said that I went to bed rather than read the forum last night knowing full well what to expect this morning. Who said the forum is quiet these days? :hihi

I don't know what you mean by hoping I'm right Benny and I hope I didn't imply losing was the issue. I watched the game on telly, I've read the forum and if it was Rd 1 I'd feel the same way as many others do. I can see what they're saying but I just can't get fired up over it myself.

The fact is, much as I really hoped to see some improvement, make that heaps of improvement, we don't know if the club are as serious as supporters about pre-season games and I live in hope that the game was an aberration rather than evidence of a hard season ahead.

Until I see for sure I can't really get angry or overly disappointed. I'll wait and see how we perform when 4 points are on the line. If we don't have a better effort against Carlton I'll be spewing. :vomit

5 reasons why that was bad

1. Wallace has started his fourth year
2. We got towelled up by Stkilda's reserves
3. We were at near full strength
4. We won a spoon last year
5. This was our first televised game to show the 'maybe members' why they should join

Positives

We've also got Polo, Coughlan, Thursfield, Connors and even Schulz Edwards and Cotchin who might strengthen us up
