Pre season scratch matches and community series games.

Interesting that Bolton was quoted as saying this preseason was the hardest he’s ever done by far.

Have ours been less because we start later? Has Shai actually removed the digit and had a crack?

Either way interesting comment.
Commentators said that possibly due to WA heat

He's close to family & happy finally. Freo are going to reap the rewards.

Funny you say that Gloop. I mentioned a couple of months ago that it looked like Freo were going real hard during the off season based on how early a heap of them started and just how hard they were pushing. (Got howled down by a few pom poms for simply raising it too....incidentally hah hah hah).

But anyway, maybe it's the case. Whether it improves them or not, who knows. But Shai's comments don't surprise me.

They'll play better in the regular season, but do Melbourne suffer a bit from what we do: a one paced midfield ? Viney, Petracca, Oliver. Even young Langford. Not exactly a nimble midfield. Best of it is Langdon ...or if they push Pickett up onto the ball. But otherwise, it's a bit pedestrian to the eye.

And they still turn it over a lot too.
Wasn't it part of their big pre season Hoo hah in the Hun a few days ago that every club had worked out their midfield of Peetracca, Clarrie n Viney, so this year they were gunna be big on mixing up n rotating their mids with a bunch of other blokes? Will be interesting to see if they do alter their mid structures and become less predictable n one paced.

Doesn't every player say that when they change clubs? Massive big pre season, maybe they'll hit a dirty big wall around 16 weeks or so into the season.

Freo look super fit, you did call that awhile back. And got hit with “SO ARE OURS!!”.

We’ve looked sluggish and slow. Finish last but still look slow.

I reckon pretty much everyone who ever changes clubs says that. Then others say it whenever a coach changes. Footballers talk nonsense.

Reid would’ve complimented the other 2 lads nicely.
Murphy Reid *smile* yeah. People ignore it because it questions our recruiters and Hartley in particular.
At 14 it had to be one of three and all were ideal for the list as well as talent. Reid mid Allan h/bmid and fmd how bad do we need a small fwd in Joe Berry.

What does that mean Oldie? We certainly got heaps out of this bloke and he rewarded us in spades.
Yes we did get plenty from him. Will always be a two time Premership Tiger but he's wanted to go back to WA to be closer to family since he was drafted.
It's an intangible sure but a happy player plays their best footy.

How good was that turn and kick on the run? Absolute dart.
Who knows what will be with Reid and Lindsay. There's a couple of queries eg pace with Reid.

But one thing you're gonna get is elite decision making and execution. No doubt about that. Big advantage where trying to make it is concerned !

Think they're top 4 this year with the addition of Bolton.
Solid defence
Great Midfield with depth
Best fwd line in the comp.

Yeah. On paper they tick a lot of boxes. My queries around them are Longmuir and if they can win away from Perth - particularly in Melbourne. Think they lost 6 or 7 games last year interstate.

I have the top 4 mainly made up by interstaters.
11 wins at home
1 away against w/coast
2 against us & North
Gather round(Not sure who they have)
15 wins thereabouts should land them top 4.
All home finals
Big chance against another interstater in the GF.
But yeah their archillies is away games.

FOS had a ripper game. When he doesn't have to be played out of position he has shown he is a dead set gun.

I would have loved a combo of Jagga or FOS and Lalor. Pitty we couldn't have used Bolton to get pick 2.
