Yeah. I really don't know why. Only a few delusional tropical tippers expected us to win last night.
They were saying on ABC Radio that it was one of the best games they'd seen all season, that up until midway through the third we were still a chance, still hanging in there. And I agree. I left thinking "yeah, that wasn't too bad, could've been far worse". You know why?
We threw everything we had at them. We took them on. There was no chipping around, little or no negative play, we gave it a red hot go. And we weren't good enough. But at least we were trying to win at every stage, not limiting the damage. I can handle losses like this. At least we showed spirit in this one.
And we will get better. Skills improve, bodies get tougher, endurance gets better. Geelong showed us last night how good we need to be. There's the target for the players. Next season, we'll be better than that. And the season after that.
