I wonder what PRE will be like next week?

Yeah. I really don't know why. Only a few delusional tropical tippers expected us to win last night.

They were saying on ABC Radio that it was one of the best games they'd seen all season, that up until midway through the third we were still a chance, still hanging in there. And I agree. I left thinking "yeah, that wasn't too bad, could've been far worse". You know why?

We threw everything we had at them. We took them on. There was no chipping around, little or no negative play, we gave it a red hot go. And we weren't good enough. But at least we were trying to win at every stage, not limiting the damage. I can handle losses like this. At least we showed spirit in this one.

And we will get better. Skills improve, bodies get tougher, endurance gets better. Geelong showed us last night how good we need to be. There's the target for the players. Next season, we'll be better than that. And the season after that.

well done skyblue that point of view on lasts nights game was one which I didnt really think about, but what you say has lots of merit

I think only the deluded would be angry with what happened last night. Whilst I always go to the games HOPING we will win, I never expected it last night. Man vs boys- the best in the business vs a side trying to work its way up from the bottom of the ladder.

What did people expect?

Unfortunately some get carried away with wins against mediocre opposition and completely overlook the flaws in our collective game which were always going to be exposed against the best side in the land.

There was too much chipping last night and that's how we lost possession.

True, I should have clarified that. What I meant was there was no backwards chipping that has become a hallmark, we were always looking to move the ball forward (until Kane Johnson got his hands on it). We were at least thinking positively, just didn't have the skills to pull it off.

Was it just me or did we try to go through the centre more, rather than bringing it up the wings?

I reckon you are right.....and many of our turnovers came from going back into the middle when we were wide.

we were taking it easy last night, just making sure we didn't over exert ourselves before next week's crunch game ;)
