See if you can predict where each team will finish this season. Simply number the teams from 1 to 18 for their predicted finish at the end of the home and away season. It is a points based system and the person with the lowest score at the end of the home and away season wins.

If you pick the bombers to finish 10th and they finish 15th you accumulate 5 points. If you select Brisbane first and finish 18th you get 17 points and so on. If you manage to predict a team correctly then you get a minus 1 score. So if you predict the tigers to finish 3rd and they finish 3rd then you get minus 1. If there is a tie at the end of the season weekly totals will be added to find the winner.

Entries close 18th March, kick off of Tigers Carlton clash

When doing your ladder please make sure you NUMBER the teams from 1 to 18 so it is easy for me to calculate.

1 Brisbane
2 Port Adelaide
3 Richmond
4 Geelong
5 St Kilda
6 Western Bulldogs
7 Fremantle
8 West Coast
9 Melboure
10 Gold Coast
11 Carlton
12 Greater Western Sydney
13 Collingwood
14 Essendon
15 Sydney
16 Adelaide
17 Hawthorn
18 North Melbourne

Brisbane are getting better and better every year, and will be harder to beat at home. Addition of Daniher if fit will bolster their forward line. I think it wasn't a fluke that Port went so well last year, they have a good spread of young players, and experienced players and expect them to finish top 2. Addition of Alir Alir strengthens them.
I normally have the tigers to finish first but not anymore, purely because history suggests we don't want to finish on top, we peak at finals time. As much as I/We want Geelong to finish down the ladder this year, it probably won't happen, they are looking to grab a premiership now for Dangerflop with the additions they have made. Don't know if the Hawkins/Cameron combination will work, hope it fails. Home ground advantage should get them top 4
After the top 4 it is extremely difficult to predict where all the other teams will finish, for me they are all ordinary and the premiership should be decided by the above four teams.
St Kilda had a great season in 2020, they should be there again this season. With Butler and now Higgins there they should make finals, but this is the saints so not fully confident they make finals. The Western Bulldogs have a plethora of midfielders, but their forward line and back lines are the worry. With Bruce headlining their forward line, don't think they will go far in finals. Treloar for me is not much of an addition, to me he is an untidy/ sloppy disposer.
I think Fremantle might be the big improvers for 2021 with their young crop of stars going to the next level and making the eight. West coast still have a strong list, but some of their stars are getting older (hurn, naitanui, kennedy, shuey). Should get enough home wins to make the eight.
Melbourne will be thereabouts but the forward line is still their worry, have a plethora of inside fifties for not much return. Don't think their coach is much chop, and I say good luck with Ben Brown. Gold Coast can't stay down the bottom of the ladder forever and think they will improve with a fully fit Rowell tearing up the competition. Ellis, Markov and Townsend just might push them to finals.
For the last two or three years Carlton have been touted as big improvers and they did improve last year, but finals for me is out of reach. The addition of Saad to me isn't that great a player, turns it over too much. I am skeptical and biased, want them to finish as low as possible to keep the pain going for their fans.
All that turmoil at Collingwood in the offseason will affect the team's performance, and think they will miss the eight and say goodbye to Buckley. GWS just aren't that good anymore and the loss of Cameron and Williams will hurt them.
I think Sydney will improve but ladder wise they won't finish that high up the ladder. If Buddy plays all games then they may finish higher. I think there will be another deluded season for Essendon, won't get near finals to try and stop their run of winning a final. Long may it continue.
Adelaide should improve from last year and their home ground advantage should get them enough wins to avoid the spoon.
With Sicily out for the season and Gunston missing the start of the season, I am predicting the Hawks to have a horror 2021
North Melbourne are coming from a long way back, bottom for them.

It occurs to me that I have a top 4 which is the same teams as for 2020, history says I will be wrong but can't really sort out who would drop and who would rise, maybe Geelong drops, or Brisbane. I think Port are the real deal. Footscray, maybe West Coast and StKilda are chances to rise. But Geelong have recruited proven players . . .

This is so hard!.

3 Brisbane Lions
4 St Kilda
5 GWS Giants
6 Port Adelaide
7 Geelong
8 Carlton
9 Adelaide
10 Melbourne
11 Western Bulldogs
12 Fremantle
13 Essendon
14 Hawthorn
15 North Melbourne
16 Sydney
17 Gold Coast

Mebbe, but 4 of the top 8 held their spot from the previous year in 2020. West Coast and Geelong are super consistent in the top 4. Footerscray are also consistently around that 8-12 spot, ditto Saints.
