The other teams to be jealous of our perfectly coiffured "Matrix Men" :hearton
Any player who turns up with bloody product in his hair doesn't play. Done up for the tv, not to play. Want some scruffy rough-looking mongrels, not some airy fairy puffs.
Get out and play the game hard its not a modelling catwalk!

hmm a prediction. we will once again be shown that leopards do not indeed change their spots or in our case pussies.

Hmmmm are you implying the boys are" monogomous leapoards"?

couldn't agree more. metrosexual free zone. :flush

Just because they look good, doesn't mean they can't play! Geoff Raines never had a hair out of place, and he could play! :)

I don't think anyone was making that assumption. The players a paid a lot of money to play football. Couldn't careless what they do or look like off the field...so long as it doesn't embarrass the club.

Do you really think the club would take on board a sponsorship if they thought it would embarass them?

No thats not what I meant. Don't try and read between the lines. So long as they don't drink drive, do drugs i.e stuff that reflects poorly on the club. Couldn't care less if they wear product in their hair. So long as they don't play like wimpy metrosexuals and look like joe hollywood on game day.

I don't care if you disagree, you are entitled to your opinion. Just don't make assumptions that are not there.

my prediction....

a Collingwood player to be involved in an off-field incident (doesn't matter what) and Eddie will say ALL of the following in the press conference:

1) the matter is being managed internally

2) Collingwood has a great culture and will help the kid rehab and kick on, so suspending him will help no-one

3) no-one would care about this if he wasn;t a Collingwood player because the world is so unfair and biased against Woodsmen

:hihi year is young, give them 2-3 more goes of it before seasons done :)
So long as our guys keep flying under the radar it's all good.
Was actually thinking that it's just what Eddie needs at the moment. He hasn't got much happening at the moment so he needs a way to keep his profile in the media. He's probably worried that the punters out there might move on and find a new superstar to fawn over.
He's had the kid in strife, Arocca's departure, must be something from the coaching or medical side to announce soon, or maybe sponsorship to replace the TAC loss. Just to keep him and the club on the front page of course

I think this year will be a tough one.

Didak issues may arise again.

The kids had an awesome year in 07, can they back it up again in 08 (always hard for kids to do)

They have lost Balme, Swann, and now Arocca

As Watson said once, the fish rots from the head

You forgot his No. 4 and favourite.
4) You realise in our theme song it says "Side by side we stick together" so that's what we do at Collingwood :vomit

Kelvin Moore - rightio the crown jewells are in being lowered into the vice as we speak - had him stamped 'goner' early last year. Has the tools skill wise and physically but no appetite for the contest. saw a qualitative difference in last few games and VFL finals. Prediction very fragile but if Kel conquers his doubts and puts body on line will be a Wellman/Ben Hart rebounding half back who can play tall from time to time.

:rotfl :rotfl :rotfl :rotfl :rotfl :rotfl :rotfl

Oh My Dear Lambsy please no more my sides are a splitting.

Easy explanation for Kels EXPLOSION INTO FORM AND BECKONING SUPERSTARDOM.

Moore only played well in the last few games and in VFL finals cos he was in teams that were winning or playing good team footy at that time.
When the pressure is on and he has to step up Moore is nowhere to be seen, the guy is a truck fair dinkum.

Moore ............................................... MEH, SPARE ME, i wouldnt give 2 cents for him.

Edwards to use his pace and vision to find large amounts of space goalside of the ball - that's not the prediction.

Someone will bloody see him and - shock horror - kick it to him. :o

Richo won't win the RFC goalkicking this year. :o Tigers to win two or more games in a row several times . Top 8 finish.

No 1 - Ladder position

Tiges to make top 6 - Qualifiers (back pedalling stuff) . This assumes a good run with injuries and full uninterrupted seasons to Simmonds, Brown, Foley, Thursfield, Deledio, Newman and Coughlan (tough ask for Cogs I know!). Still expect improvement with average run with injuries say about position 7 -10. A bad run with injuries will see us bottom 6.

N0 2 - Breakout years

Chris Newman - will go from solid player to elite wingman, will be a 20 plus possession wiingman who will use the ball well kick long goals, win hard balls and do all the team things.

Deledio - as a semi permanent forward will kick 40 goals plus - will win games off his own boot. Will be top 3 in Coleman at some stage of the year

Jack Reiwoldt - to become a jack of all trades this year playing half forward and half back. His skills and judgement will start to show out.
Will inspire quiet awe and whispers as the year progresses. Will be leading contender for rising star (if eligible).

Polak - will cement CHF position - will kick straight :o

No 3. Tiger all australians

Foley, Newman, Deledio.

On AA fringe Simmonds Brown Pettifer and Kel Moore.

No 4. Quiet achiever

Jarryd Sylvestor - After an injury to Jay Schulz mid year will be promoted off the rookie list and play solid "Greg Strachan" footy at full back culminating in a wonderful finals series

No 5. Norm Smith medal

Richo and Sylvestor tie.

No 6. 2009

I believe tiges will finish higher in 2008 than 2009 but then have sustained success from 2010 onwards. There are many intangibles at play this year. Browny and Richo are nearing the end and have one more great effort left. 2008 is our centenary year and this should lift the team and also moderate the negative third party perceptions which could create a band wagon effect in our favour and hopefully neutralise the umps as well.

So sayeth the sheep!

Got one right already - Lids was leading the Coleman in the second quarter ;D

BTW Moore well on the way too!!

Plus for all the bagging he gets Petts showed real leadership in that last quarter off half back and through the middle! How easy is this prediction stuff? ;)
