Prelim finals 2008 - anyone still interested?

On reflection last nights game showed the Aints up for the pretenders that they were.
If ever a team overachieved it was St Kilda in '08.
Good luck with draft pick 13, they need plenty more than that to become a genuine contender again.

Also did Hodge have an internal injury or just simply bite his tongue?
Certainly seemed pretty dramatic when he came off spitting blood but it would be good to know how badly hurt he actually was before it enters into folklore.
Seemed to play the game out ok so can't imagine it was too bad.

Copped a big crunch to the lower ribs off Kosi. Also copped another crunch in the same spot later that doubled him up.
Seems the medical opinion is a bit of bruising to a lung caused him to cough up a bit of bloody phlegm.
The boys a genuine hardnut, they'll strap him up and poke a little painkiller into him for the Granny.

The sad thing is that 4 years ago we were in the bottom 4 with the Dogs and the Hawks. Both teams have been playing finals and one of them will have a chance to win a flag in a week's time.
This is an indictment on our club.

agree with this.

Saints are on the slide.

- Harveys gone
- midfield lacks pace and depth
- Rucks are old &/or slow &/or injury prone (King, Kosi, Rix & Gardiner)
- lacking in good KP backs (plus Hudgton is turning 33 in Feb)
- lacking in KP forwards (apart from Reiwoldt)
- not many scoring options (apart from Reiwoldt & Milne).
- Much hinges on Reiwoldt (and he could be at the GC in 2011)

- If Dal Santo is tagged, he's not interested
- They always have a lot of duds in their final 22. Fiora, Gwilt, McQualter, Clarke R & X, Gardiner.....
