PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

The notion of a Premiership Clock goes in and out of fashion, but I've been thinking about it lately and would be interested to know people's views of where we stand now, and where they expect us to stand by the end of the season.

(My understanding of the clock is you are most likely to win a premiership anywhere from 10 -1 (12 being a premiership): sometimes teams climb from 9, but rarely from 2. 3-4 the club is usually in denial and padding out with rejects from other clubs (eg Essendon) 5 the club bottoms out and starts to address the issues; 6 onwards is the building phase towards finals. 9 is a low finals team... (someone please correct me if I have this completely wrong)

As a starter, I think Richmond are currently at about 6.30 at the start of this season; and realistaclly may climb to 9; ie just outside the window for a crack at the Cup, but aiming within a 2 years. However given the draw, and vagaries of luck with injuries and a young list, we could still be at 8.00 by years end. If we have an outstanding year we may reach 9.30- but that is right at the top end of pre-season expectations and may look foolish or nostrodamus like by 6 weeks into the season.
