At least Gaspar gave 100%.

Ga$par? You must be kidding.

His decision to retire instead of fighting for his place showed his true colours.

He was told by TW that he couldn't fight for his spot. Apparently our younger KPPs were the equivalent of Stephen Silvagni Peter Knights and Chad Cornes.

yeh atm

but if we got an injury or 2 gaspar would be back in asap

but the sook left his teamates like the selfish player he has always been

andy kellaway deserves respect, not darren gaspar!

Gaspar's 200 + games does indeed show he deserves respect. Easy for you as an armchair exert to assess a layer is selfish and doesnt try. What a joke. Take a look at yourself and how you would feel if you were trying every week 100% and got put in his position. Personally I ahve no idea what I would have done but to cal lhim selfish is a disgrace. The wrap he got from fans cant have heled and with having jsut had twins he robably just didnt need it anymore. Why owuld you, the fans gave him no respect, being in form is not good enough for selection anymore, seriously after 200+ games why would yo uwant ot bother after getting treated like that. And to add salt into the wounds he has been told juniors who have virtually shown nothing are now the equal of him. Gasar deserves respect and should get it. ARmchair exerts are a disgrace. You go paly 200+ games for Richmond football club champ and then tell me how you would feel if treated this way.

Spot on Shawry.

I will add Kellaway was given the same options as Gas was recently, to play as the club required not based on form & he too pulled the pin !

Gas did the right thing. IMO no senior player now is guaranteed a game based on form & therefore expect further hidings to occur.

But that has gotta say something.... None of our players are happy to play at coburg.... they think they are bigger than the club. They obviously have lost their passion to play! At the end of the day they are still getting paid big $$$ to PLAY AFL! they are living what many of us see as a dream! Signs of alot of EGO problems and a lack of respect for the club.

Aw crap. Couldn't sleep, logged in to see if it did happen or whether it was just a nightmare. Oh man, 35 goals. 35 goals. Oh man. Shawry, great job. You and I must drink heavily now. See you at Feral Port Pirie Power Tool Park brother, we will drink to forget. If those prix get any where near 30 goals I am running out there myself, beer in hand to make some Scotty Turneresque spoils. Oh man. 35. Back to bed. Maybe I am still asleep and it IS a nightmare...............

Probably writing this in the wrong thread , but while thinking about our current state last night, can remember Terry saying this when he first joined the club.

"I dont believe you have to bottom out, to achieve success,"

Interesting , really, what exactly are we doing then.

Agree K one double you one
BTW: As a mad wellington hurricanes supporter with the great yellow and black, where do you originate from?

That's why we need to take a radical approach this week, of dropping the whole 22 that played yesterday, and replacing them with the Coburg team.

Not only then, are we going to see who WANTS to play for the seniors, as they all run around for Coburg.....but it also appeases the fans (and maybe the club) who want us to tank for draft picks.

We're not going to change the culture of this club, by seeing the usual this Thursday night at the selection table......we all know what it will be:

IN: Krak, Tiva
OUT: King, Jackson (or some other young kids)

....we've done this rubbish for 20+ years, where we just recycle the same players between the seniors and reserves, week after week, season after season.

The only way to change the culture of the place, and to let the young kids also know, that reputations and what number they were drafted, are worth nothing.....only the performance you put in on the field, willw arrant you a Tigers jumper.

We need a shock, we need a change, we need to do it now!

At least we got to see Deledio in the middle tonight, and the answer is that he isn't up to playing in the middle (at least at this stage in his career). Yet people are still ringing up tonight saying "why doesnt wallace put Deledio in the middle", he did and it didnt work. Brett is a very good Half back Flanker. Leave him there for the short term.
Spot on Serpico

Wallace started with Lids in the middle apparently. Was stunned by Wallace's comment "people have been screaming for Lids in the middle" (Which people? - hopefully not Pre people - I wonder if he has someone reading and reporting back to him?). Lids is not an inside player yet - Wallace knew this and I am amaze he ceded to populist views. I keep remembering that Lids could have registered for the next draft - he is way young - he is up there with Carlton's Murphy for mine but not as structured for midfield roles yet.

Stick with your running outside game Brett - it's just as important to team success! Small cameos in the midfield will get ready when ur body and mind is right for it.

Im glad that Lids started in the middle, and I will be happy if he contiunes to play in the middle and learn. I want to see Lids next get 10 possessions in the middle, then 15 then 20 until he is consistently winning the ball in the middle. Making judgement on his suitability in the middle on one game and without much support from other players? I don't want to see Lids as a good honest half back flanker. He's done his apprenticeship there, he needs to get game time in the middle.

Gaspar has been a great player at times for Richmond.
However he and his advisers held the club over a barrel when they had a chance.
Fair enough he did a giveback later on.
However he is a new father of twins and when presented with Wallace said I'd rather do the kids thing.
He cares about his life and has been well rewarded.

Miller has stated in the last week that Richmond couldn't clean out due to finances. Only now are they in a position to clean out.

What gets me is the inability of the super salesman to get the club to change.
Something has been eating at the club for too long. For too long we take good players and then they seem to lose confidence and ability. Stuff like kicking the ball to the man.

I believe that the problem is at the top. The senior players are a big cause. I love Richo and he tries his heart out, but his body language is appalling. His personality overwhelms other players. They look for him, instead of other players leading.
Why in all his time have the club not been able to mould him with kicking action and attitude.

The players have ruled the roost and we the supporters either worship them or flay them, depending upon the weeks results.

I call for an exorcism. Is the good Archbishop Pell able to help.

Who is our Damien?

Another radical approach would be to keep the same team.
Taking injury into account of course.
