For anyone keeping score at home, it ended up being pick 7 and GCS took Jack Scrimshaw who was traded to Hawthorn in 2019.
Makes sense, all pick 6's have been terrible apparently. Baloo keeps the score.
It's now common knowledge in the AFL the Pick 6 is cursed. Conca regarded as the best Pick 6 ever
Top 10 picks in the 2016 are currently tracking as one of the worst top 10’s in the drafts history.

Richmond traded out of pick 6 for Prestia. Then used pick 29 (Vickery compo) for Bolton and pick 53 for Graham. Both of whom would sit comfortably in the top 10.
In summary, Prestia could never play another game again for Richmond and we had to pay him 750k per annum for the next 5 years and we’d still come out so far ahead in that trade the AFL would issue us a “please explain”.

The worst drop is from pick 5 to the maligned 6, a 57 game drop is shocking. Even pick 40 from 34 drafts averages 90 games from each player drafted at that pick. Pick 56 they still average 77 from 35 drafts.
If we ever get pick 6 we need to "Grand Sale, Grand Sale" it.........
We did have pick 6 and took Conca over Heppel, Prestia and Lynch!
The pick 40 anomaly is explained rather easily. Ablett Jr was taken at that pick.
that is a very forgettable top 10.

Bolton probably top 5, Graham top 10.
That's the strange thing about that draft, pick 6 Conca, pick 7 Caddy, pick 9 Prestia, pick 11 Lynch. We ended up with three of the first 11 picks in that draft
that's not too bad.
