Priority Pick Here We Come

I can start to smell the priority pick in the air, O-4 is pretty not cool for our footy club. Should we bottom out hard and get the priority pick and then launch ourselves for 2011? TW may use the extra picks to pick up some decent players with skill & heart?

People say we don't have a culture of success. If so, that would be one way to ingrain it even further.

We don't qualify for a priority pick as it's now measured over two seasons isn't it? Like 8 wins or less over to years. We won 11 last year so we're screwed. But we'll get one in the 2008 draft coz the way we're going we won't win a game until Terry's vastly looked forward to 2011 ::)

If u win under 4 or 4.5 games one of the 2, you still get the priority pick but at the start of the 2nd Round.

Gosh lose four zip, and the chicken littles are squawking.

'Smells' like a bit of hypocrisy on their part, because if we were four wins straight they would have been accusing the flower sniffers of reading too much into the wins, and that we're just covering up the massive holes in our list, and bring out the brooms cos the whole teams full of duds.

Talk about overrating losses. ::)

I guess when you have no facts to the contrary you have to attack the man rather than the ball.

Although I am curious as to how many losses on the trot you would be happy to take before 'squawking', if four is perfectly acceptable. Eight? Nine? Surely there is a point at which you will scratch your head and say, 'wait, something isn't right here...'

It is not so much the fact we are 4 zip that is the problem it is more the quality of the teams we have lost to. Collingwood and Carlton are both a strong chance for bottom 4 like us and they made us look ordinary at times. Sydney are always slow starters and we ran a team out of form (doggies) back into form.

Sure some of the Coburg kids enthusiasim and a few wins might turn it around but at the moment that seems like a long shot, and as everyone rightly says the next 4 weeks are alot harder than the first 4.

Nth Melb, Melb and Brisbane in Melb are looking like 50/50 chances. Hence 4 wins and priority pick at the start of rd 2 looks more likely than not.

Brisbane down here we should be a certainty.

A priority pick won't happen. Not for Wallace and his obsession with promoting a 'Winning Culture' at all costs. Doesn't matter who we win against, when we win or who we win with, he'll fight to the death to scrape in enough victories to cost us a priority pick. Even if in the long run it would be good for the club. Not that it's a problem at the present moment mind you...

Excellent Tygrys, I sense a Spartan attitude in your post, and you have described good old leather pants down to a T.
