I'm not sure of the rules about Priority Picks. Would appreciate some advice.
2007 Hypothetical No 1 (although obviously highly likely!)
We win fewer than 5 games this season.
Where do we get our priority pick?
Is this after the conclusion of the first round i.e. basically pick No 17?
Meanwhile Carlton wins no more games in 2007 – hence they complete two seasons in a row with fewer than 5 wins.
Does their priority pick - on the basis of fewer than 5 games for two years in a row - come in front of Pick 1?
Does this mean that Carlton get a pick before No 1 - and then we might essentially get picks 1, 17 and 18?
(Or if you like - Carlton get No 1 - then we get 2, 18 and 19?)
2008 Hypothetical No 1
We win fewer than 5 games this season – and in 2008 win (say) 4 games.
Carlton wins no more games in 2007 – and wins 5 or more games next season.
Would we get a Priority pick in 2008 – ahead of Pick 1 – on the basis of fewer than 5 games for two years in a row?
2008 Hypothetical No 2
We win fewer than 5 games this season – and in 2008 win (say) 4 games.
Carlton wins no more games in 2007 – and wins only 4 games next year.
We also win 4 games next year.
Hence both Richmond and Carlton win fewer than 5 games for two years in a row - and both might be entitled to a Priority Pick before the first round.
Which club would actually get the first Priority Pick?
