As a Tiger member/supporter I feel like the boxer going into a fight that is well over his weight division. Its a 22 round winner take all stoush and I just know that in many of the rounds I am going to taste the canvas.

For many years now I have been positive and upbeat about the looming footy season during the months of February and March - I have lead the Brightsider charge into the season - not this year I feel numb already - mentally fatigued and beaten.

Somebody stop this sad merry-go-round I just want to get off...................maybe a win will do it against our old foe Carlton in round 1 - nah not really - if they lose to us then - their season will be shot and we will have false hope until we meet a good team like Geelong, Saints, West Coast, Port etc.

Time will tell - but right now I'm looking at a sad long cold winter.......................RT

I see your caption RT...talks about being blessed and having a big heart;
Try to imagine you dont have a penny next to your name right now, just like the Tigers without a win in season 2008. You feel like you've been kicked in the guts; Your on the ground, but still alive; Just like Richmond, your big heart keeps you alive; Dont be afraid & Never give up!

No need to suffer Remote. Just change channels.
There's Rugby, Motor racing of various forms, International sports, boxing, soccer, athletics etc. Even Giddyups to be found.
If none of that works go fishing or camping or sit and contemplate the old navel.
If you can't get up for the start of Footy season it's time for a sabbatical.

There's always the races RT - how are the long shots going?

Not real good either jb - ever since EI the shorter price horses seem to be greeting the judge first - have a look at last Saturday at Flemington and Rosehill only one winner paid double figures at each meeting in Sydney and Melbourne. I got three winners on the day and only broke even. Had 6 2nds too - could have been a great day except the camera seemed to always go against me.

The tide will turn - the good 3yo group races usually throw up a long shot as do the Handicap black type races for the older horses - bring on the Sydney autumn carnival........
