Now before anyone even DARES to start swingin at me in anger......this is a very legitimate question Im askin.
Why?
At the time of the Blighty sacking,I,like Everyone else,(in QLD as well as Victoria)thought that there was a conspiracy by butters and Thomas to their own ends.
Then,along the journey...I was very fortunate to meet some ex-saints,and ex-Hampden League players who gave me a lot of useful inside mail into the affair.
Blighty did have a lot to answer for as he was away from the club more than at it....and was rather aloof and a bit arrogant........and thisdidnt sit well with the players apparrently.....
Grant Thomas was one of his biggest allies.....but when it was goin pear shaped for the saints...he put his hand up..........
He was very successful at the hampden league..(4 flags with the Warrnambool Footy Cub before Scotty Turner took over)..and before you VFA types start,he could hold his own against anyone........and the Hampden league is not a Mickey Mouse league.......
So,his decision-making is a bit sus at times(whose isnt?)but i find his wit as subtle as sam Newmans and he is one of the coolest guys under pressure that Ive known........
So.....Ive had my two bobs worth......
