PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

Hey guys, it's time to start the 2008 tipping competition.

Rosy has posted in the past about the changes to the hosting and general running costs of this site increasing, largely due to how popular we are. This year, the tipping comp is going to be run through www.footytips.com.au, and will have a small entry fee of $25 (a little over $1 per week of the seasoo).

If you wish to participate, you can go to www.footytips.com.au and register for the site. Once you've registered, you will see a link to "Join a competition". Select this, and you will get taken to a new page.

In the field provided, type the name of the competition as "PuntRoadEnd". You might see "The_General" next to the comp as the administrator. There may be another comp with a similiar name, but ignore that one. You'll need to enter the password "PRE2008"
To get entry into the competition, I'll need to click a button to say you've paid, in the meantime, you'll still be able to enter tips, but won't be eligible for prizemoney.

The entry fee needs to be paid into the PRE bank account, you can PM me or Rosy for details to that. Once we've got confirmation, I'll click the button and you're good to go.

The prize money, will be split up, to help contribute to the running costs of Punt Road End.
If we get under 36 people join the comp, $450 will go to the running costs, and the balance will go to prize money. If we get over 36, then the prize money will be split 50-50 with running costs.

Prize money will be split up as follows.
1st prize will get half of the cash that is assigned to prizemoney.
2nd prize will get two thirds of the cash left over after 1st prize has been allocated.
3rd prize will get the balance.

All prize money will be rounded up/down to the nearest $5 (eg 1st prize of 166.50 would become $165 and second prize of $103.50 would become $105).

And to keep those who end up near the bottom of the table interested, there will be a mystery prize for the person who finishes 8th last.

For example, if we get 30 people join. $450 will go to running costs. $300 would be left for prize money. $150 would go to 1st prize, $100 would go to 2nd prize, and $50 would go to third prize.
If we get 40 people join, $500 will go to running costs, $500 will go to prize money. $250 would go to 1st prize, $165 would go to 2nd prize and $85 would go to third prize.

If you have any questions, post them here, and I'll do my best to answer them, or PM me for any admin type stuff for the tipping software.

The software asks you to enter a winning margin for the first game each week. In the event of a tie, the person with the lowest total margin will be declared the winner.
