Good thread Nitro, can I intrude a bit. This is one that turned up a Trivia Night, run by a group of Local Teachers (YUP- Eggheads).

Name the VFL Footy Club who has never had a player who has kicked 100 Goals in a Season.

They give one answer, but I reckon there are two.  Eggheads please report to the Principals Office after school.

We may have never met in a final but we did meet on Grand final day...I think.

I was lucky enough, along with 500k other Melbourneians to be at the 77 Grand final replay.

If my memory serves me correctlty we played the Hawks in the curtainraiser that day and I think we may have even won???

No you're not. We did play the curtainraiser.
I've still got the '77 GF replay record. Let's see.......

Close game at 3/4 time. Haw 9.15 to Tiges 10.6.

Hawks kicked accurately in the last qtr, whereas we didn't.
Final scores, Haw 15.15 to Tiges 15.12. Beaten by 3 points.

Hudson, I think in his final VFL game, kicked 7.2, Lethal 2.2, Geoff Ablett 1, Bennett 1, Rowlings 1, Mark Scott 1, Murnane 1. (Yes, that is Barry Rowlings, and I missed a goal somewhere.)

For the Tiges, Monteath 4, Hummel 2, Laughlin 2, Balme 1. Ah Oh! That only comes to 9 goals, missing 6. Oh well.

The Tiger team listed that day was:
