I know Tommy has had his day, but I think the strategists at tigerland can pick up on a simple principle. This principle is that a player who takes the ball and runs forward and kicks long or provides a quick kick into the corridor gives the forwards a better than even money chance to get the ball and if they do, they are in prime scoring position. For too long, our team's "classy" midfielders have been obsessed with dancing around their opponents. This is total bulldust. Too often they get caught and this is impossible for the forwards to lead to. If I see one more Richmond player who is clear, double back and put himself or his teammate under pressure, I"ll spew. Fair dinkum, we did it under Frawley, under Walls, under Gieshen and now even more under Wallace.
We need to quit finessin' and play an aggressive game. A classic example is that we are taking a natural burst player like Andrew Raines and turning him into a dancer. His father didn't dance. Deledio is also starting to dance and that really worries me.
