Quotable quotes

Like you say taraba, each to their own. I like subtle humour. Listening to Lyon, BT and Brayshaw being puerile and immature, combined with their blokey 'your boy', 'dukes out' type crap, is a form of torture IMO. Much like B Brownless and his juvenile crap.

Spot on, TD.

I definitely thought footy was more entertaining with that trio. I just can't stand the 7 commentary right now and don't think it'll get much better. Bruce and his '... gets the ball, squeezes one out" I mean what the hell is that??? I suppose when I'm watching the game I don't need to be told exactly what I'm seeing. I can see it for myself so anything that adds to the entertainment was good. Hence my disappointment to see the old 9 sunday footy commentary go :'(

Dennis Commetti - something along the line "Carlton now have the chance of winning the $1 000 000 bonus, if they win the premieship, that'll be like a Leyland P76 winning the Melbourne Grand Prix".

:rofl :rofl :rofl :clap :clap

That's a beauty. Speaking of F1 Grand Prix, Murray Walker has got to be the king of the quotable quote:

"That car on screen right now is absolutely unique; except for the one behind it which is exactly the same!!" :o

Circa 1989, Practice Match against the Magpies at Latrobe Univerity, it was a quarter time huddle, the sun was hot, you could of cooked an egg on the bonnet.

KB addresses the players, (mind you we were getting thumped), "Come on guys, if you think it's hot out here today, it's hotter in September".

This quote has always stuck in my head as a very poor motivating tool from a coach.

Wiuth ya too CC. McAvaney is too annoying these days, he is a disgrace when interviewing tennis players too. McAvaney is one who does try way too hard I think, needs to go back to being natural.

HA HA, how cheesy :rofl

Yeah I'm sorta growing tired of ol' Brucey now, with his "This is Tivendale, on the leeeeffftttt".

You can buy a book of Commetti quotes if you're really keen.

I like "he went into the pack optimistically and came out misty optically" when libba was sporting a new black eye.

Me too, I would love to hear something like "This is Tivendale, on the riiiiightttt". Not sure I can blame ol' Brucey for that though.
