R 9 v the Dees - game day thread

Dave injured after our sub. We were one down

We have been down 2-3 players every week this year.
Chaplin, what's this bloke done to deserve a game?
Houli, please Richmond get rid of this king jibber
Grigg, what can you say? As long he plays we will always be a bottom side
Hampson, worse recruit ever in the history of this club. He got cheers after taking one mark. What a piece of ..
Morris. He is a disaster
Vickery. Plastic footballer, he should be ashamed to wear the jumper.

love my RFC but we are weak and soft, how many remonstrated when dawes hit rance Tommy would be discraced.Richmond should be tough and strongh

Whilst people slam Hampson, like it or not, we need to win clearances. Some on here have been wanting to see the Griff / TV combination, and quite clearly this did not work, we got smashed in hit outs AND clearances in the 2nd half. IMO whilst Hampson was poor, TV was no better and at least we stand a chance of winning the clearances with Hampson winning the taps.

I've said it before and I've also given credit when he's deserved it, but IMO Vickery is the most overrated player at this footy club, if we can trade him for a CHB or a mid then we should snap their hands off. It looks likely now that we may well be bottom 4 and therefore should be able to get one of the top tall draft prospects this year.

We've got to look to the future and if that is Vickery then IMO we have a lot more complaining in our future.

Weak as p!ss, one of the most weak as p!ss efforts from this club in 100 years I would say.

Seriously, did you expect different? We have been dishing up this *smile* for over 30 years; particularly on big occasions.

No one does it better. This is the RFC; it's how we roll.

Hardwick saying its to do with the contested ball so the saviour Thomas will be back in next week I suppose!!

...... and Petterd same old merry go round, trial an error until we luck a win

Good to hear Cotchin shouldn't have played after quarter time and might not get up for next week ::)

But apparently we needed him, and lost anyways

Dimma also said it was his bad that Hampson was subbed out at 3 quarter time only for us to get beaten at stoppages in the last

Great coaching again :help

Opted to stay home and watch on TV for the first time. Disappointed but certainly not shocked at the result - consistent with our form all year. Not at all confident we'll get over GWS with the same rubbish forward setup and method of delivery.

A sad day for the club on several levels. Gary March must be rueing this 2012 comment.

"We would sincerely hope Damien is a Tommy Hafey-type who coaches for 10-plus years and coaches us to premierships."

Another disgraceful effort. The club does not deserve the loyal following they have. Time for someone to take responsibilty for on-field. An embarrassment on a day we were remembering Tommy Hafey and had the players from those great premiership teams in attendance.

All those premiership players from the Tigers' halcyon years must have watched the game in shock at how inept RFC players are. No courage, no fight, no passion and no heart. The Tigers of old would have found today's effort cringe-worthy.

Past players took part in an exhibition match a few years ago and we got flogged in the main game. Think it was Geoff Raines who said "We aren't very good, are we?"

What a sad day , legend of the club passes away and we still can't win .

I find it sadder that we had such a crap season before Tommy died. Wish we brought more happiness to him in his final months.

A few years Tommy was coming up here after a game. He left mid game and came up early because he couldn't stand the style of footy we were playing. He said to me "We deserve better than this rosy". Might be my motto now. Richmond supporters have helped drag this club out of the mire. Tommy was correct. We do deserve better than this.

Spot on.
We have all done as much as we possibility could, but yet again there's no return.

Your right Rosy.

Warning - big rant ahead :hihi

Wow, where do you start?

The season was on the line today, it was a must win. It wasn't just win it for Tommy, it was win it to keep in touch with the 8.

Dunn kicks out from full back, goes over everyones head and is heading for a OOTF, instead of sheparding the ball over, Hampson paddles the ball over the line. You can tell it's going to be one of those games.

Then there is Chaplin, standing in the goalsquare by himself, somehow a Jones scrubber rolls past him for a goal. He drops sitters, he tackles like he playing touch footy, one little tap will do, when what is required is a crunching tackle. He gets outmarked by Gawn and Pedersen and any other hack floating around in the Melbourne forward line.

Speaking of which, it's a problem we've had for a long time now, but we let a spud/s get off the chain all the time. Today it was Pedersen taking uncontested marks in the goalsquare, Gawn was made to look like Carey, and Watts kicks 3, the same Watts that is *smile*, the same Watts who played a shocker of a first quarter, but by the end of the game was leading and marking all over the forward line. Liam Jones, Lin Jong, the list goes on.

The bombing into the forward line, with Howe happily picking it off every time. We had 2 guys who were 200cm plus against Dunn and Garland, our forward line is always so crowded...

Melbourne win from the middle and a quick kick forward is to their forwards who are playing in front. Our guys are always behind. We don't mark around the ground, no-one can take a *smile*' mark.

Jones, a good honest battler, gets a truckload of ball, again our guys get plenty of it but they don't hurt the opposition.

The umpiring was terrible, Melbourne should have gotten free kicks early for holding the ball, then we had one in the forward line on Grimes, the ball spills free and the Dees were away.

Houli, Grigg... :vomit

When we got within 4 points, I knew we'd lose. I knew we wouldn't beat the Cats despite being right in it at the start of the last quarter. When we hit the front against the Dogs, I knew we'd lose.

*smile* this team.
