Tried hard but our skills let us down.

Must lose the mentality of a honourable loss is acceptable, hope Terry drums that into the group right now.

he did, remember sydney and west coast?

words mean nothing, its up to the players to take a game by the balls for once

Tonight was different thought mate. Those two games they had the army willing them home, tonight they were in enemy territory and didn't give up, even when Adelaide threatened to blow the game apart on several occaisions.

What is wrong with Kane Johnson's disposal without any pressure?

I thought he was alright last week but he cost us tonight
Johnson really shouldn't be playing with his injury, however with our young team and with Richo out he'll have to stay in.

Geez....imagine a KKP forward with Riewoldts guts, Hughes speed, and Schulz ...err...potential...we'd have our hands on a real good one then.
Schulz is a better mark and kick then both of them.(well maybe Hughes is a bit better kick)
Well he should start getting more marks and kicks than the 2 of each he got tonight. Time for Schulz to find some form in the magoos. Would like to see Reiwoldt take his place.

Tough game the Crows are a real good side so even across the paddock they don't have a poor player geez it would have been nice to get the win. To take them Sydney & West Coast to close games shows that with some more experience bigger bodies & a bit of confidence we are not that far away given some luck with injuries.

Is anyone worried about Richmonds lack of intensity tonight.

What the *smile* are you talking about?

Seriously, sometimes I wish the club knew the actual names of the absoloute imbeciles who post around these parts and banned them from life from being members.

If one looks at the stats, I think you will find Richard Tambling will be credited with a hit out. We are so amazingly undermanned in key parts of the ground it is not funny.

Yet we take an exceptionally young team to our bogey ground and lose by only 9 points.

I am sitting absoloutely GUTTED tonight, not because we lost, but because our young, severely undermanned and undersized team worked their GUTS out tonight, and just fell short.

Some of you idiots need to give yourselves a serious uppercut. Fair dinkum, watch the *smile*ing game before posting *smile*.

Great post Meltiger :clap

2 things lost us the game tonight - 1. Wallace's decision to leave Raines on Welsh and 2. every time the ball ended up in Johnson's hands was almost guarranteed to be a turn over or lead to a turn over. He has gotta go...

Just got back from AAMI stadium tonight. I cant fault our blokes too much. I am not ha we didnt win but our intensity tonight was so much better than last week's debacle( mainly from Edwards, geez I love that kid). Sat behind the goals in the cheersquad 4 rows basck and I enjoede the atmosphere. Normally I like to sit with opposition supporters but was there with my wife and I tried to be as loud as Icould.

The bos plaed quite well, jsut couldnt polish it off when they had the chance, and didnt bak themselves enough. Istill ahd some criticisms about too much stop start football again and a bit loose on occasions, but our attack on the ball was the highlight as was our pressure on the players including keeping hte ball in our forward 50. WAs really impressed. Was not imressed everytime Pettifer got hte ball though I cringed.

Richo is sad, I felt bad at the time I told him to get up off the ground and keep going not realising the extent of his injury. Had a great time and was shattered we didnt get the result but cant faultour blokes. THought Meyer and Edwards gave something and we were 100 times better than alst week.

I want to say a few things.

1. Tonight - I am so happy with the effort that was put in, I can actually look at some of the players and not want to rip their heads off for being weak little pathetic so called men.
2. The Young Kids we have are nothing short of talented. Shane Edwards has so many tricks, once he gets two or three pre seasons into him he will be a special player. I was one who stuck up for Patto, this kid will be a CHF/Pinch hit ruckman, and be more than handy. I will keep saying his work ethic and endurance is ELITE and the kid will be a player. Jake King I had major doubts on his ability but tonight he showed he has something, his kicking is very good, he backs himself and is one guy who loves a fight and will do the jumper proud. Dean Polo absolutely killed Goodwin and showed just how tough and committed he is by comming back on after he dislocated his shoulder, WARRIOR. Brett Deledio was just good. I'm really concerned that Deledio is falling into the old Richmond habits sometimes really, I mean, yes he has more talent that anyone on our list but yer I think he could do so much more, I think he plays like he's in first gear all the time, if only he changed gears he could absoltely rip games apart! Richard Tambling continues to stink it up. Appaling efforts tonight, this kid has to pull his finger out, talks the talk - start walking the walk kiddo. Will Thursfield was very good for a comeback game, was rusty but is a very good defender and him and Polak will be good bookends for the future. Danny Meyer, all the talent and skill in the game, needs to find the ball more but I see so much potential in this kid. Cameron Howat another one that proved me wrong the last two weeks, still his kicking is pretty bad on occassions but his workrate is very good and just keeps finding the ball. Nathan Foley - BRILLIANT.
3. Senior Players like Krakouer, Johnson, Tivendale continually cost us so much. Johnson is by far our WORST PLAYER! Make no mistake Kane Johnson is costing us in a number of ways like MORAL, SKILL LEVEL, ERRORS, TOUGHNESS, PACE. Get him out of Punt Road.

LMAO!

Good to see the CS's no drinking rule is not yet in effect interstate :beer

No fault on what you said Shawry, just the spelling! LOL

Gutted that we lost, again. At least some better signs though the inital forward set up of Richo alone with Schulz on the bench was odd with our eye on the future.

Hughes will play again next week at the expense of the disappointing Schulz and JR will come in for someone - perhaps Richo if he is out injured.

WOuldn't expect too many other changes unless someone dominates at Coburg.

A special well done to Patto and Jake King.

I don't know that Krak was good, but he was certainly better. Last week you could have replaced him with a cardboard cut-out, this week hew contributed positively a few times.

Special mention also to Edwards though who got caught a few times but will no doubt be a terrific run and carry player "going forward" (I've always wanted to use that phrase)

I thought we would get pumped tonight so I was heartend by the effort put in but I have to vent my dissapointment on some players.

Tivendale. Does some nice things then does some terrible things or just goes missing.

Bowden. Great player at times but lets you down at certain times that really hurt.

Johnson. Did play a fairly good game tonight in patches but as above can let you down at times when its just not acceptable!

Raines. Come on son, find some form please. Improved performance tonight though.

Deledio. Hospital handpasses, poor decision making, just looks out of confidence. WHY? This is not on, who's fault is this?

Pettifer. Where's the work rate, and high flying grabs and big goals from 55 like last year?

Now for the positives.

Foley. The way he backs himself when he has the ball and gets out of trouble to deliver the ball is fantastic. Why cant the others get out of trouble like him instead of clangers.

Edwards. This kid looks like a real footballer. Just finds it and takes em on.

Patto. Could of easily dropped his head when that turnover cost us a goal at a vital time in the game BUT he stuck to the task and played a great game. Well done young fella.

King. Keep up the same thing every week, I hope Raines is watching.

Polak. Doing a good job in a tough position.

Richo. Poor bugger was in form tonight and they didnt go to him properly.

Newman. Great form after such an injury last year.

Naturally disappointed to lose but thought it was our best '4 qtr' display to date.

1st win should come next week IF the team can recover & apply themselves as they did tonight.

Errors made from both side's tonight. We got smashed by not manning up at crucial time's!

Any opinions on Jackson's game tonight on McLeod? Just a question. Why do players do what Jackson did in the last quarter when he had a shot for goal with the outside of his right foot instead of kicking with his left. With a player on his inside and swinging around on his left side surely kicking it straight with his left would be a higher percentage kick.

Krak was good tonight TB

Sorry melly - your good to my good must be way off.

He doesn't do anything at all. I cant see how anyone can say he was good, better than usual yes but that hardly relates to good.

Make no mistake it's because of Johnson, Krakouer and Tivendale, and sprinkle in a bit of Pettifer's scared efforts that we lose tonight.
