Saw this topic & thought Hmm race for the flag & wondered where RFC stood in the race.

Excerpt from AFL stewards' report:

"...Richmond Tiger trailed the field throughout. When quizzed over the poor performance, trainer T.Wallace explained that Richmond Tiger suffered broken gear in the warmup and conceded his runner was outclassed and immature. He added that improvement is expected with a favourable handicap in the upcoming National Draft Stakes..."

Well I think Geelong are the best hope compared to the other vic teams but it would be nicer to see Collingwood make it then get pipped at the post by the Swans. >:D :rofl

Geelong's the team to beat on current form..................watched them closely and can't find a Weak link , every player contributes in some shape or form , excellent chemistry and have the intangibiles that are neccessary to win the flag....................in saying that , it is only Rd 11 , but barring Major injuries to certain Key players , I see them finally pulling one off.

Im still convinced the Cats will implode. They look fantastic, but we have been here before and they always either choke or implode..... watching Bartel and Ablett in full flight right now is impressive though, and you have gotta love Mooney

Cats have got just about all their cattle on the paddock this year, got their heads screwed on the right way around ( so far ) and are threatening a big year.
Ifs and buts at the moment, I'm praying they implode somewhere, somehow, soon. I come from a cats family and the only bragging rights I have had going against them for years is our five flags against their five failures. If these bastards win one I'm dead meat.

i lived in geelong for a long time and i feel the same way mate, i had a burning hatred for carlton due to them beating us in 82 but when the 95 grand final was on i was so happy they beat geelong.
i think (and pray ) that geelong will stumble soon,i would love to see a collingwood v bulldogs grand final with the doggies staging a late comeback and win by 1 point after recieving a free kick due to the new hand in the back rule.
geelong need to prove themselves at the MCG yet for me to take them seriously(when they beat a side there by 10 goals i will come up with another reason why they can`t win the flag ;D).
