The racism on this site, casual and even blatant is now too much for me.

I'm chaining myself to the grandstand on this issue so that's the end of me. Mostly it's been a lovely ride over many, many years but if I want to hear racism spewed out by pathetic, mostly drunk-brave middle aged men, I only have to wander down to my local public bar.

I used to feel vaguely welcome here amongst Tiger brothers (I can't imagine a single sister who'd dirty her hands by coming here).

One racist comment should be enough for a perma ban. That's what would happen in a civilised society. I'm sure it's even there in the terms and conditions. Here, animals are allowed to roam free. Ruining it for everyone. To their delight.

So, now I feel like an outsider.

That's me done. I don't belong here and I'm very ok with that.

You could always use the report function? We literally can't read every post, so if you think something is suss, let us know.

I reckon if you are going to leave a bit of a slap like that you owe it posters to be more specific. Passing that information to the mods would also be fine if you don’t wish to do it for all to read.

It might help them improve the experience for all.

I have seen racism on this site but I have also seen it called out, pretty often actually, which doesn’t mean there isn’t racism that hasn’t been challenged.

Guessing it involved a certain misery guts from the Indian Ocean side of the continent and their comments re: MRJ's selection for the Dreamtime match.

I actually reckon theres less racism than there was in the Adam Goodes days

Back then we had a mod who was great, other than the fact they had zero grasp of the issues around racism.

The racists now are generally called out and mostly retreat, rather than be protected to proliferate.

Occasionally theylle start a thread and talk to themselves like the old fool they are.

Overall, i reckon our quality control is pretty good and we are significantly better than broader australia.

Theres data bears this out. Our online Voice poll, 164 respondents, only 18% voted No.

Agree with all but your last line.
Murky water there.

Surprised by this as for the most part racist posts on this site get called out pretty quickly these days. Mods are quick to take a tonight when they are made aware of it.

And there are regular female PREenders here

Very and while I was adamantly in favour not sure we were right. (Treaty more important)?

Without starting the debate again, it felt pretty obvious that what was the most important is what the Uluru Statement from the Heart asked for. We are where we are because it's been the government deciding what was best for our indigenous population, instead of listening to them and what they thought was best.

I saw the post that triggered this. It's a tough one as I also believe that part of the thinking to bring Junior in would have been the fact it was Indigenous round. But not as a token colour matching pick, but because the spirit and meaning of the round means a lot more to Junior than it would any non-indigenous player.

So for me the pick may have been influenced for what the round stands for and what it means for indigenous people, rather than a token selection.

Not sure if that makes sense, it was difficult to explain without sounding hypocritical.

indigenous people over 10 years culminating at uluru

Australia said no to step 1

I,m sorry you feel that way Yoldy.
I enjoy reading your posts.
Many posters continue to call out racism, it isnt going to be eradicated but we can keep the education and acceptance for all peoples

I sympathise with ye olde. I really do. Racism hurts. I try to avoid it, but any Murdoch social media thread, the hatred and racism is soul destroying. I just read a thread on hawthorn's premiership reunion, cyrils absence discussion, full tilt heinrich himler, from aussie hawthorn supporters. PRE isn't anywhere near as bad, but it isn't good.
