Raines in AUS squad to play Ireland

I just read in the paper that Raines has been included in the squad to play Ireland this year. :clap

This will be great for him as was with Deledio last year.

Has anybody seen the squad to play in this IR series? Any other tigers in the squad?

but on the flip side, i'm p!ssed rainsey is going to ireland. why to they keep playing that trumped up gaelic footy crap? bring back state of origin!!!

I would hazard to guess that the players see it as an honour to be chosen to play for Australia, even if it is a hybrid-Gaelic game. It's really the only pseudo way of representing your country.

Congratulations to Rainsey forbeing chosen, his style certianly fits in well with that type of game.

The GF sprint will be run on a handicap system this year, so it will be interesting to see which players run & off what handicap.

Greg Stafford will be running the GF sprint this year and will be running off a handicap of 85 metres. Apparently Channel 10 has reacted by re-scheduling the broadcast time until 7pm.
