i haven't seen any of this Ranga but i thought Gus was ok against freo and coll

I thought so too.

Anyway good to see more depth in an area that we were deficient in.

Yep exactly why Browne shouldn't be rushed. Nahas fills a greater need at the moment.

Cannot believe the excitement over Ranga ... after one game!

It wasn't long ago that PRE was "all over" Gus to replace Patto ... who next week for 2nd ruck ... Putt? ...

Give Gus a chance to show his wares in the ones as he at least has had a year under his belt and has not been too bad (except for reports from the Brisbane game) in the pre-season this year.

Graham is not going to make it.
Vickery is a way off yet.
I predict the time for a huge forward pocket ruckman is returning.
Am keen to try Browne there and rotate in ruck. Saw his developement clips and he is a strong mark and a great tap ruckman.
Replace Pettifer with him and we have nothing to lose.
Will allow long bomb to goal square when all else fails.
Only has to catch 2 and kick 2 goals to be a sucess.
Ranga for round 1 !

Look i think we Tiger supporters are just so desperate for success after so many years in the wilderness that maybe sometimes we think that when a player shows a bit we get excited that he will be the panacea we need for success..It will take a team effort to achieve this..NO Cuzz, No browne,No richo will do this.it will be the TOTAL team that does.the off and on field and us poor mugs in the outer also....all pulling in the same direction...success

well graham certainly hasn`t cemented his spot as number 2 ruckmen.
if this kid`s in better form then play him.

get him to smash into kreuzer and cloke and then plonk him at full forward or forward pocket.
he certainly couldn`t be any worse than graham.

He's the type of kid that would have annoyed me in the playground or in school matches - not really a natural footballer from what I've seen; possessing a lumbering, quasi-correct technique that is a poor imitation of the better players. As a small, skinny, Richmond-supporting flanker with good skills these big lumberjacks who grabbed the ball out of the sky and wobbled it through for goal after goal really ruined my childhood, and have caused severe psychological damage. ;D

BUT...

...you can't deny that he's got something about him. He seems to know his role well (take marks and dish off), is pretty nimble at ground level for a big man, and generally has some smarts and understands the game. He is good at tapping to advantage as well, not just tapping.

He's the sort of player I don't like to recognise as a good footballer, but all the same he is more effective than a Danny Meyer isn't he? So what can you say?

Exciting prospect for a ruck-starved club.

:clap :partyfest :partyfest

Well, thanks to all that have contributed to this thread to throw their support behind the Big Ranga and get him in the team for Round 1.

Ultimately, thanks to Terry for officially joining the 'Ranga for Round 1' Campaign :cupgold

yet, BT, going by your avatar, you still think we should have taken a different ruckman on the rookie list.
