I think Hall had a better year and continues to improve and at the moment is in the RFC best 22.
I must admit, however, to not knowing where he fits into a side with less holes than Richmond exhibits.

He kicks straight for goal but is not a good contested mark. He is too short for a ruckman and too slow for a true centre-half back.

Let's say Schulz = CHB next year. Schulz certainly looked more capable of staying in the game at CHB than at CHF or FF. What does that do to Hall? While I don't believe he will be traded - does that make him tradebait? Can we turn him into a forward option to take over from that other tall speedster Stafford?

Ray hall tries and has slightly improved every year, but still he makes terrible decisions that nearly alway's result in goals against us.
He would be handy in a team of guns as he would be less accountable, but would and DOES STRUGGLE WHEN HE IS THE NO 1 MAN

I agree Pharace I wouldn't suggest de-list, and would be wary of trading him, I am just trying to work out where and how he should be playing his game - he doesn't seem to fit into any particular position.

If any club was stupid enough to offer us a second round pick or better we would be stupid not to take it..
Failing that keep him as a stop gap for a few more years i guess...

I find it rather amusing the way Hall is continually denigrated by some of people here, yet he does his job week in, week out and generally does it very well, Well worth keeping until another 6'4" 6'5" player who can play attack, defence and ruck presents himself,

l think it would be a mistake to trade ray hall unless we were offered a first round pick showed very good signs late in the year next year lm hoping for consistency from big ray and even if he doesnt perform every week keep him as terry's hitman ala roger merrett when someone wacks a tiger small he gets wacked in return by rayo if rayo gets suspended well thems the breaks at the moment would you be worried about retribution if you hit a richmond player l dont think so

A 1st round trade for Hall you are kidding arent you c,mon be serious now, what a laught, that is the funniest thing i have read on this site.
HALL IS A TRUCK and should be traded while we can get somthing for him.
If we trade for another defensive tall, as well as have Schulz as an option then where is Ray gonna play?????
TRUCK !!!!
GET RID OF HIM while we can get somthing.

YOU NEED QUALITY TALLS TO GET ANYWHERE AND HALL AINT QUALITY.
It is the mindset of many that we lack talls, and lack players in that age group, but that is no way a reason to keep subsatandard players at the club with better options available via trading and better long term prospects such as Scott Meyer, and Spangher who both play at CHB.

Keeping duds for such reasons is a Frawley mindset and lacks forward planning, courage, commitment to rebuilding and vision, and also A CANCER OF THE RFC FOR PAST 20 YEARS WHICH IS WHY WE ARE STILL CRAP FFS!!!

we wont be finding another 6'4" player to replace him if we dont start drafting some talls but according to some we have plenty of talls on our list.

Well said Carna you just forgot to mention, Falls over too much, cant make decisions is reactive, ordinary mark for a player his size, is always led to the ball, ordinary skills and cant ruck nor play forward really. Apart from that mate i agree with you 100%
:hihi :hihi :hihi :hihi :hihi :hihi

So you were saying that when he kicked 3 goals against Hawthorn?

If i dont rate players carna it takes prolonged quality performance to change my mind. And i dont rate HALL, HILTON, CHAFFEY,TIVENDALE,MORRISON, PETTIFER, as well as a few others and wont chaange my mind bout em.
I am happy for short term pain in wexchange for long term success so i didnt really give a toss what Hall, Pettifer , Tivva, Chaff, Morro, Hilts and the other duds did this year, cos they will not a premiership for the RFC win, therefore i'd be happeir if they were'nt at the RFC at all. SAY NO MORE.

I support the club but i cannot stomache these sub standard hacks cos that is what they are SUB STANDARD and anyone who rates em at AFL level is kidding themselves.

not every player is a star craig you need some foot soldiers and with a lot of people saying what a crap draft it will be do you think we will get a better tall with a second round pick than razor and before you answer try being realistic

I just as much as nayone understands that not all players are stars dont get me wrong there, but these guys at RFC have been there for 4-5 years some even more and have not improved, in fact some ie Tivendale have gone backwards, whilst the club has treaded water and stagnated.
The correlation that can be drawn is by matching the crap performances with the lists, and the players mentioned above are the common link, and were also implicateed in our shocking games this year.
These guys are long term underachievers and substandard duds that are not up to AFL standard threfore are wasting, time, space, money and effort at the RFC.

GET RID OF em. THE SOONER THE BETTER.

Should the above players remain at tigerland next year then we as a side will go backwards i have no doubt. So much for player development.

It is easy for those who know what they are looking at to pick those that are naturals and can play footy as opposed to those that are not quite up to it.
POISE, SKILL, VISION and COMPOSURE (ie decision making come naturally to good footballers ) examples of players who are naturally better than others at RFC include, LIDS< BLING< MEYER< THURSFIELD. These boys can play and are not and never should be lumped in the class of hacks like those mentioned above.

I still also raise doubts over HYDE, SCHULZ, MOORE, FOLEY, HARTIGAN and ROACH. but time will tell on them.
Hilton, Hall, Morrison, Chaffey, Tivendale , Pettifer are substandard duds who will never be premiership players and i will stand by such comment till the cows come home or till TW and GM get fairdinkum and get rid of them, whilst Krakouer is laszy and sadly a wasting talent.
It is a blight on RFC that after delisting or turning over up to 24 - 26 players over the past 2 years that up to 10 if not more who are either ready to retire or not good enuff could still go.

VERY VERY SAD INDEED. :-\ 8)

l agree with what your saying but l think hall and schulz need to be given 1 more year either they become consistent good players or we get rid of them l think schulz could be a big improver next year if given enough game time

Shulz will be alright but agree on most of the others craig.Im more worried about Roach and Raines and how they handle these 2,i dont think they are going to make it in AFL.Be interesting to see how the club handles it with the big family push they did to try and get Travis Cloke last year.
