You kidding, actually getting to see sport, as opposed to drivel from the boring comperes, is a rarity in olympic coverage. 10 sports going on all the time and all we get to see is some background piece on the host city, a feature on the local cobbler in Tokyo or 15 minutes of drivel as they wax lyrical about some athlete. The olympics coverage is a joke anyway, 30 minutes of drivel for every 10 minutes of action.

DS

I cannot wait for the Olympics. Love it.

Will tune into 7mate every night after 6.

Why is it completely logical to shift a game that doesnt need to shifted?
Would our home game that was played at Docklands have been moved if no crowds were allowed? of course not.
Would you rather we didn't play a home game at Docklands?

If yes, then don't complain when other clubs want 11 home games at their home ground.

i didnt say other clubs couldnt complain, i dont blame them for complaining.
but you said it was logical to move the game. clearly it is not.

To our medicos @The Big Richo @craig ,

is dusty out for the season, or the year?

will they have opened him up to repair a ruptured kidney, or does time heal it?

what im getting at, specifically, is could he play in a late October GF if AFL postpones,

12 weeks?

Postponement seems unavoidable, unless your a dees or cats fan

Dusty at FF and having a bit of dialysis at halftime, winning a 4th NS

would be the greatest story in history wouldnt it?

There is a difference between logic and logistics.

Logic = Geelong plays this home game at its home ground, given the purported reason for the MCG was to maximise the crowd.

Logistics = the admin around planning and execution of a shift is likley at the bottom of the pile for the AFL when it comes to dealing with its current fixture headaches.

Of course it's logical for the game to be played at Kardinia Park.

In all probability, logistics don't permit it.

It is not just crowds, it is also contracts.
If no crowds were allowed would our Docklands home game have been moved to the MCG?

Hey mate thanks for the hit up.

Basically with these sorts of injuries it depends on the severity of the injury, and as to whether it is requisite of surgical intervention.

To my knowledge there has been no mention of Dusty needing surgery unless i missed it.

There are varying degrees of trauma in kidney injury and intervention, recovery and management is primarily related to what level of injury is
sustained and as to what structures may be involved injured impaired etc..

The positive thing is most levels of trauma injury is left to nature to heal, with surgical interventions left for the most severe injury and in the
case of life threatening hemorrhage.

The injury will heal itself but there is a delicate balance with blood chemistry and associated other kidney functions related to blood pressure regulation, including adrenal gland involvement, and of course electrolyte balancing and management within the kidneys and filtration system.

There can be flow on effects initially during recovery that require observation such as infection and other functional aspects thus testing blood chemistry, urine out put and testing, with the healthy kidney just taking over the extra load whilst the injured kidney recovers, but in healthy young athletes other issues are less likely.

Obviously the less severity of injury the faster recovery and dependent upon damage sustained and to where and what.

I'm no renal specialist at all here but i guess you'd likely be looking anywhere from 6 - 12 weeks depending of course on the level of injury.

The most severe of injuries those requiring significant surgical interventions can be looking at quite a bit longer.

Will be interesting to hear if they release any further in regard to his condition.

Obviously we all hope for the quickest possible recovery for our champ.

Game locked into the G on Sunday , time to be confirmed

I reckon its hilarious that there was wide spread agreement, in here and at Tigerland, and at Geelong

that a move to GBHMDMA made sense and was reasonable,

so the AFL kept it at the G :rotfl1

I'd rather play Geelong at Geelong if we could. Burden off us and I don't buy that the ground doesn't suit us.

Did I mention *smile* Geelong? We are nearing the time for that. Wherever.

The weak pricks are still traumatised by the slapping and ram job we gave them last year. Poor Scotty the best ever 'Clayton's coach. Even the potatoe head supporters have worked out he is a dud. Dangerfield, Ablett, and now Cameron, its desperate times for liitle Scotty.
But they have always been a weak and flaky football club ( don't listen to the media, hot favourites in 92, 95, 08, 20, all lost)
1995 Carlton paid $65.00 for the 10 goal margin, i had 50 on it.

If we beat them on Sundey i would be the happiest bloke in the country.
They have some super jibbers Higgins Smith Dalhouse Rohan etc.
One more win tigers just one
