I think Friday nights game is the biggest test for our club this year. Its such an important game, Friday night / TV / Big Crowd and TV Audience.

I am really worried about this game as Melbourne have a pretty good side with hardly any injuries where we are a bit light on in some areas especially with Cogs and Newman out.

Melbourne have a lot of match winners and its going to be tough to stop them all. I rate our forward line as good as theirs, but i think their midfield with Bruce, McClean and Johnstone in form out rates ours by a fair way. We are going to have to match all of their players and we need all players focused. If we drop off and try and carry 5 or 6 players we are in trouble.

KEY Match UPS

Gaspar on Neitz - Hopefully Neitz doesnt get an easy run from their midfield, Midfield pressure by us should cut his supply and Gaspar should do a good job.

Raines on Davey - Hopefully he can keep him quiet.

J Bowden on Robertson - Will run off and hopefully not too many turnovers out of defence.

P.Bowden on Miller - Should win and rebound

K Johnson on Bruce
Polo on McClean or Johnstone  Key midfield match ups keep them quiet and we will go close
Hyde to take the other

Tuck to hopefully get a bit of it with Foley

Tivendale maybe on Brad Green (Worried when Green goes forward though)

Maybe Pettifer on Picket, make him accountable and run him around the field.

Anyway should be an entertaining game i just hope we turn up to play as it has thrashing written all over it, but prove me wrong tigers and show us why we are a much better more commited side.

GO TIGERS

I agree we appear to be up against it in terms of class and experience compared to melbourne but dont underestimate how well we've played when we've been the underdog this year. If we can shut down some of their key playmakers, ie Travis Jonstone, Davey, robertson, we're in with a real chance.

I just hope we dont get smashed and at least if we do lose we're comptitive and dont go back to the hawthorn effort a few weeks ago.

it will be won in the midfield. both midfields are in form so sets up a cracker of a match

Not another krak thread

I totally agree. This is a huge test for our club.

The game will be won in the midfield. Both teams have very good forward lines and suspect backlines (my opinion). This is why im not so confident as right now they would just about have the 2nd most inform midfield in the comp behind the crows.

Im expecting Browny to push up the ground a little more this game to add some class to our depleted midfield. Also dont expect a huge game from J.Bowden as I would think that Bruce will play half forward to make Joel accountable the same way he did to Tarrant a couple of weeks back.

This is a huge stage for us and the first time the club has really caught the attention of the AFL community in 06.

Sadly and call me still a little wary and gun shy from previous decades of mediocrity, but these are the games in which the tigers has previously folded like a Chinese laundry lady.

A big effort is required not only on Friday night but also over the next 3 -4 weeks with big big games looming.

This Friday night and the next 3 weeks will show whether the side is REALLY starting to move forward and where we are really at.

While we'd all love a win over the Dees, Ploughs prime criteria for this game is for the side to stand up and give a genuine account of themselves, the Dees smashed us in more ways than one last year and Plough wants a positive response from the team.
Thats a hell of a matchup you listed Wayno------ Petts on the human wrecking ball :blowingup

Will be doing this for most of the day... :nailbiting

But if we win...  :shakehead and  :hula

Lose and it's :doh :frustration

Got no idea what to expect from this match... Year after year after year we come to this type of match and crumble something bad. I am HOPING that with a new coach, team and culture we are ready to finally step up to the challenge. Anyway im bloody nervous as. If we win i will be singing the song at the ground for the next week....and then ill go chuck $50 on us for the premiership just for the hell of it! Terry - win at all costs!

EAT EM ALIVE BOYS !!! :clap

i agree that their midfield has much better quality than ours... by a long way to be honest, but is their depth as good as ours? do they have the runners and the speed?

i'm with you craig. i certainly didn't tip us to win (yes maybe there is a chance for some of the PRE tipsters to catch up to me ;))

not saying we'll win, but the first 15 minutes will tell you if we're switched on or not. our starts have been a little better of late, so we'll see...

Are you talking about the OzTips comp Ian? I've tipped the Tiges a lot this year, and I'm up with the leaders. ;D
