Just thought I'd bring up Nick Riewoldt's first season stats.

Can't remember if he was injured in his first year or not (2001), but his stats were.........

Averages of: 10 possessions, 5 marks, 1 tackle, 0.5 goals.

If JR got figures like that in his first year, as a tall forward, I would be happy.

Nick was injured in his first year - only played 1 or 2 games
He played 6 games.

I don't have any worries about JR.

He may spend a couple of years rotating between Richmond & Coburg, and probably spending most of that time at Coburg.

But I reckon that 3rd year, that's when he'll click.
I know I usually say give talls until they're 23/24yo, but there is something about this boy.
That's why, as you know, I preferred him over Thorp.

As long as he isn't rushed to quickly.

My target for him would be:
2007 - Coburg 15 games, 40 goals; Richmond 7 games, 10-15 goals, if he's played as a CHF/FF.
It would be too early to set a 2008 target now.

Hey, JR might be a good nickname for him.

He looks very vocal which has been a rarity in our club for some time. Maybe call him Dallas.

Jack appears to have done very well since his arrival and I think is a likely choice as the preferred third tall, in front of Hall and Kingsley. Don't expect him to play a full first season like Lids but would have him as first choice left hff in the early part of the season.

Maybe
B Bowden P Gaspar Newman
HB Bowden J Polak* Raines
C Tambling Johnson Howat
HF Riewoldt* Richo Tuck
F Brown Schulz Deledio
R Simmonds Polo Foley
Res Casserly* Pattison Petifer and Tivendale
Unlucky Jackson Kingsley Meyer and White.

Of course, the next step might be Debbie. ;)

Since you're an expert in looking for the right players, I'll let you decide who the right girl could be. ;D
