Reiwoldt = frustrating.

He's averaging nearly 7 marks a game this year and has taken a large percentage of them contested! I'm amazed that people here don't see him as a number one forward of the future! He's taller than Nick, and he knows how to get body on an opponent in a marking competition to have them off balance when it matters.

Even last year, i didn't have confidence in his kicking though it has got a lot worse this year. I too have absolutely no confidence he'll deliver when he's having a set shot. A lot of the goals he's kicked this year have been from clever ground work close to the goal line. Take them out and the stats look even worse.

He certainly isn't taking many steps before kicking at goal and probably needs to try and just be more natural about the kicking action. I think a footballer will always be more accurate with any disposal when it's more instinctive! Just take a look at our kicking efficiency against WCE when we were just playing on and not kicking sideways so much which is when players start trying to steer the ball to team mates! The less time you think about it, and the more you just let your body do it's thing, the more likely it will get all the alignement things right!

At least Jack has a set routine when kicking for goal. Morton doesn't seem to have any routine whatsoever. He has to have the most ugly and unreliable kick shooting for goal out of any forward in the competition.

no excuses in missing easy set shots.

He needs to put in some major hours in practising to shoot at goals.

Bloody frustrating

i wonder how roughhead was going at the same time in his 3rd year? thats who i most see him as

I saw nearly every game he played for Coburg in his first year on the list.

He was a reliable set shot on goal. I'd say he was around 70% efficiency.

BUT

About every 8 or 9 hosts at goal, he was prone to having a brain fade and spraying the ball by completley mis-kicking it.

Just like his cousin, although i think he just shades his cousin at the moment :help

He's definitely bludging for periods of the game. The yips are another issue.

I'd like to see him play out the season at CHB. Get him heavily committed to every moment of the game. Good player in the making here IMO.

Havent read the entire thread, however I remember watching Jack early on at training and he was a very very good set shot for goal, I still think technique is still quite good he just seems to be starting with the ball on his right and walks right and ball is a bit behind him, hence he misses to the right all the time, Jack walks in like a classic hooker, however his leg action is of someone who kicks the ball straight. Bucks will fix it up

Not a bad idea. Make him get a bit more physically involved.

An x-tigers player I saw at the Bulldogs game reckons Jack doesn't commit the body to contests he could get hurt in.

He drops the ball too early, doesn't guide it down with his hand as long as he should, gives the ball a chance to wobble before his foot comes through, I reckon it's technique first before anything mental.

Got any scoop, bro? I'm looking to destroy a few bookies.

Interesting, BCL. I'm ok with sensible. Spectating is a problem. Partly it's about his engine. Partly it's about his attitude. Anyways I reckon a smarten up is in order.

I'm a fan of the kid.

Most good kicks don't spin the footy in their hands as they prepare for a shot on goal.

If Jack holds the footy "still in his hands" properly as he aligns himself for the kick, before commencing the runup to the kick, he will kick the footy where he aims to kick it.

The Tigers should get hold of Michael Roach and get him to take young Jack thru goal kicking step by step, then make him practice same until his feet bleed.

He has a technical problem, he drops the ball too early. Case in point that last set shot he had he dropped the ball on to the inside of his foot and punted it out of bounds.

He also needs to put on some weight, he's still too skinny in my book and he's been at Richmond for 3 years. Another 7Kg would not hurt him at all.

He's a good lead, he has a great leap, he can take a contested mark. Its his kicking that is letting him down and that is what needs to be addressed this coming pre season along with his build. Rectify that and he will become a very good forward, not the Key forward, but possibly the 2nd forward option, its up to him and its for damn sure its up to the football department to give Jack all the resources and development it can to make him into a better footballer.

Give him a break!! He has done 2 pre seasons and has still not had his 21st birthday!!!!

Under 16 kids who train once a week & twice when there is a pie night, would be dissapointed if they were missing some of the shots he is
