"RELAX" says Newman

"Despite a history of failing to perform under Wallace's reign, Newman is adamant the Tigers can hit back and collect the four points against the Demons.

"We're going to play with a lot of passion this week and as long as I'm captain that's going to be something that's going to be in the forefront of the minds of all the players," he said."

May be best Chris that you don't make statements that you can't back up. God help us if yesterday was playing with passion. :o

LOL...despite being *smile* for years, all of a sudden we're going to be good.

Where's it going to come from Chris?

The question should be: 'how many times did Newmo fail to make a tackle when he should have yesterday?'
The play that got my attention was when Polo got pinged down back, which got the Dees a goal, after Newman was trying to run away from Polo... probably to 'make space', so that when Dean went to handball to Newman his back was turned. Very very poor stuff but obviously what they have been told to do - against anything that is decent and right in the world! ;D

I think Newman's played ok so far this year, but we all have to remember, he was never that great to begin with! He's a slightly above average player at best, with no defensive side to his game. I can't count how many times i've seen him outmarked in the backline.

He's not a bad player, but he's not great. He's just an average player, and some people are forgetting that.

The problem is Jinxy is that our whole list is average, we don't have any great players and no matter who captain's our club they are not good enough for the job.

Exactly. There is a leadership vortex at Punt Road. We haven't a good, inspirational leader since Richo was in nappies.
