According to Axel (or could have been Richo) on the post-match interview on 3LO Terry told the players to go out and enjoy themselves like they used to before AFL. Back themselves, have fun and don't worry about being dragged if they stuff up.

I reckon it showed and for the main part it was a very free flowing game where the players all looked like they were backing their natural instinct.

A classic example was Edwards great effort in the last quarter where he did the good work then ran into the open goal and missed. Far better to have a bit of a joke about that than hanging your head. Shane will learn from that and probably finish better next time but the main thing is he learned he's good enough to take them on and beat them

Was exciting to watch and hopefully a sign of better times next season......Onya Tiges.

I heard something similiar last night.

I thought it was interesting, because I thought the boys were always encouraged to run the lines etc. Take the games of Raines and Edwards (in particular Edwards vs Adelaide) as examples.

Maybe they'd lost confidence in themselves and it needed reiterating? It was odd that a coach needed to tell his players to have fun in my eyes.

So he threw away the encyclopedia Britanica that is his game plan and told the FOOTBALLERS to play like they enjoy it? What a novel FN idea that is. Hopefully he learns from it.
