Remember these guys?

They used to dominate in the ressies for us. Used to take speccies, run like buggery, snot blokes, have a ball in the twos.

And we used to go and watch them and wonder why they didn't get a game in the seniors. and occasionally when they did we realised why.

They were too one dimensional. had a few tricks that made them stand out at the lower level, but got found out in the seniors where it was tougher, faster and they had to be more accountable.

So we moved them on.

What's changed? We're on the bottom still and posters here still call for the retention of players on the basis of a good couple of games at coburg.

For crying out loud. We finished bottom and blokes like Schulz, Krak, PBo and Moore couldnt get a game in the ones. And they hardly dominated the reserves. Hughes played Coburg seconds and people cry poor on his behalf. Did anyone watch that game? The GF. he kicked five goals and but wandered around like he didnt give a rats.

Stop hanging yr hat on these fellas who can't get a kick for the Burgers or if they do, they flash in and out. They should be dominating it week in week out. krak has played a 100 games in the ones, yet his impact was minimal for Coburg. P-Bo should take twenty marks a game. he's big and he's got good hands the lower level players arent as accountable.

But to keep them? What do they offer. Nothing!

I recall the first time I saw Plapp. Wow!

Here, I thought, was our next Disco. Yeah, right!

And the Birdman. Ha! Melbourne must have known something when they let him go. Top full-forward in the VFA and then old 'Kiss-of-Death' Growl got on his bandwagon!

Krak was well overdue to go. He'd give us one quarter per season and everyone would say: 'give him time . . . let him settle in'. The only thing in his favour was I kept remembering his Dad and Uncle - Krakouer Magic - I'll never learn.

B2 - promised much, delivered little. The Kennel must be rocking with news of his delisting. I can hear it now: "Took you guys how long to wake up? Woof, woof!"

Well, I haven't given up on Moore, yet.

7 years is the minimum.

That's what happens when you don't go for minimum 6'4" key forwards.

Funcke was ok as a junior, for him it was the difference between being picked up by a club with poor junior development.

I remember Plapp from watching him play for Tassie in the VFL. He was a very good VFL level player.

Funcke had two very forgettable years on the MFC list. 2001 and 2002 I think?

Evans whacked a high profile bloke one day. Can anyone remember who it was?

Busted up Bazza Halls collarbone.

Was the best thing i've ever seen.

Liked Birdmans torp against the bombers on halftime as well. Put us in front, we went on to lose the game.

Wayne Carey ?

I thought it might have been Barry hall, but that doesnt sound right.

It was a young Hall playing for the Saints, trying to collect a ball along the boundary line at Waverley, then from nowhere the birdman swooped and hit him front on with a good and fair bump.

did you see him after the game? His team had just won the GF and he was wandering around like he'd lost a fiver and found a penny.

Gawd Steamee Cleavage. Saw him lay a defensive block on some fresh air during the finals. Was the hardest bit of play I think he managed all year, nearly mussed his hairdo.

I had a front row seat of this incident. Ball was in dispute and it was moreso Hall lining up Evans whose looked up and accelerated. Hall was the one that slowed up before impact, whereas Evans hit the after burners. As is typical, it's the guy that slows up that gets hurt.

I remember the half time torpedo too. It didn't seem to go very high, it just seemed to go low and on and on and on!

There was a 10 or 12 week period where Evans and Hilton were cleaning up everyone in our defensive half be it each other, opposition and other Richmond players. AK got in the way of these two psychopaths a few times and came off second best. Hilton desipte his misgivings knew how to attack the ball at the time as well.
